• Namib Desert - Get up close to the breathtaking scenery of Rossing Mountain and its Dolerite formations. Visit a former Aragonite mine, once a source of green marble. The guide will discuss the origins and properties of the minerals found on this tour. Examine calcium druses, which are crystal crusts lining rock cavities, at the mine. Then, move on to a rose quartz mine and a rock outcrop showcasing aragonite, manganese (dendrite) rock, and red jasper. The mountain’s plant life, including Common Candle Bush, Euphorbia virosa, and various endemic lichens, is also fascinating.
