Experience the Vivid Sydney Festival from a prime location on a boat cruising Sydney Harbour. See the spectacular sights and sounds and enjoy the scenic views of Sydney’s enlightened buildings and landmarks from an intimate catamaran, with the option to BYO beverages.
This cruise takes place on Kirralee - a 10.5m catamaran with indoor and outdoor areas for viewing the light displays. With maximum passenger numbers of 26, enjoy plenty of photo opportunities amongst the views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and other lit up locations, as this small vessel allows you to get up close to the shoreline for the best views.
Light snacks are provided, including an Italian inspired antipasto spread with bread rolls + 1 cold non-alcoholic beverage (availability on cruises may vary). Passengers can choose to BYO alcoholic beverages.
The BYO Vivid Sydney Cruise is perfect for all ages, friends, families and visiting guests.
- Passengers of all ages must be accounted for to ensure that the maximum number of passengers aboard the boat is not exceeded.
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately and wear warm clothing.
- Please note the departure location - Pier 2, Walsh Bay. This can be easily located in Google Maps or other navigation systems. The wharf is a public wharf, so specific Vivid signage is limited.
- Upon arrival to the wharf, look for a Sea Sydney Harbour representative, who will be marking names off before you board the vessel. If you do not see the vessel or a company representative upon arrival, please wait patiently at the wharf as either one will not be too far away.
- As the city is busy during the Vivid Sydney Festival, plan your travel time well and plan to arrive at the wharf 15-20 minutes prior to departure time. The vessel is unable to wait for late arrivals and due to limited ticket numbers a reschedule will not be an option.

Put this in your Calendar for Vivid 2026! - Although Vivid 2025 was a bit of a disappointment, deciding to join one of the Sea Sydney Harbour tours more than made up for it! The crew (Skipper Justin and Deckhand / Chef / Waiter / Camera Man / Entertainer, Phil) provided a fantastic night. The boat itself was cosy, just a small tour group which proved ideal. The small group made the night even better, and you could not have picked a better bunch of random people to be thrown together in that environment. On booking, they made clear the food would be limited 'grazing' style, however, there was more than enough for everyone on board and it was excellent quality! What was better though, was being able to BYO a bottle of Red, which took the edge of the Mid June breeze you always get on Sydney Harbour. Thanks to Justin and Phil, and the young lady who met us and organised the checking in process etc. A true 10 out of 5 experience! Thanks team! Jay

Great way to see VIVID without the crowds! - We sat outside in the cool of the evening but came well prepared with warm clothes. The highlight was when we approached the Harbour Bridge with lights outlining its shape and being able to see the Opera House through it covered with ever changing picturesque images. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. This cruise was particularly good as it was only a small catamaran with a capacity of 30 people which made it easy for moving around and taking photos.

Great value and amazing way to see VIVID lights - Enjoyed BYO drinks and limited number of people on catamaran. Not as crowded as other ships seen nearby during VIVID. Great value and amazing way to see the lights of city, opera house and edge of gardens.

Pretty Good Value - There was a delay in boarding, I'm not sure why? We stood there waiting on the dock next to the catamaran, which had the diesel engines running and all their fumes blowing straight through us, which honestly was pretty bad. Once on board though the crew were nice enough and the skipper handled the boat very well, minimising the impact of the swell in the harbour. We did venture into areas that didn't seem to have anything to do with Vivid? But the weather was great and the overall atmosphere and experience was very pleasant out on the harbour. Sydney looked beautiful. The platter of cold meat and some cheese was fairly basic, but still OK, and good value considering the cost of this experience.
Overall we were happy, but really the excellent weather probably helped a lot, which obviously no one can take credit for.

17.45 is actual departure time - Unfortunately we missed the cruise by 1 minute... I was under the impression 17.45 was embarcation time in preparation for 18.00 departure. Only after, I saw there was a mention somewhere in the body of the email advising to arrive early but a clear "Departure" mention next to the 17.45 would have been helpful :( it was awful to see the catamaran departing as I reached the pier
