A creative, fun and informative tourist experience that yielded good memories + great pictures! - We had a lot of fun. We knew this was going to be a more "touristy" experience, but we all enjoyed the process of choosing/dressing in the kimonos, and then also taking some cool pictures. The Wagashi treat-making was cool and fun, too (though our teenager liked the creative/making process, he admitted the bean paste taste was "not his favorite"). The tea ceremony itself was both informative and fun, and we were all glad we tried this probably-once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Sweet and tea making with kimono - The staff were all super sweet and helpful when dressing you in the kimono. We got to make two of our own sweet and whisk our own matcha, and learn the culture behind the practice!

Kimono and match tea ceremony - Another great experience that I wished to participate in whilst in Japan was the Kimono dress and matcha tea making ceremony held in a traditional ryokan. This experience certainly did not disappoint. I was amazed at how complex it is to wear a kimono correctly and how professionally quick they dress you to perfection, every step of this process was readjusted until it was perfectly right. The ceremony itself was spectacular, first we were taught how to make our own sweet to accompany drinking the green tea after the ceremony, then we had the ceremony but sadly that could not be filmed. 💕🇯🇵 It was an amazing experience to walk in a kimono, with the special socks and shoes, you certainly have to walk slowly and daintily. Oh and try sitting in this position for 45 mins, on your knees with your toes curled under so you can sit on your heals and then WITHOUT putting your hands on the floor to help you get up again, you instead slowly push one foot back and slightly side out to gain balance and then stand in one movement! It was hilarious to watch those not experienced trying to do this but our teacher did it so elegantly, obviously I need LOTS of practice 😘🇯🇵⛩️💕 and the belts! I thought I was going to look huge as I lost count how many belts were placed around my waist after every alteration of wearing my kimono. I think I was wearing 4 in total! This is an experience I loved and will treasure always. THANK YOU

What a great overall experience we will always remember. - What an incredible and memorable experience we will always treasure. We enjoyed making beautiful sweet creations followed by a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. Our host was knowledgeable, friendly, and explained in details all the important parts of the ceremony as well as taught us how to make matcha.

A great insight to Japanese Traditions - Wonderful welcoming staff who were very informative about all the traditions. Although a little pricey, a lovely tea house, well worth it and i would highly recommend.

Fun times at the tea ceremony - Presentation great! Our facilitator was very knowledgeable and precise. She also incorporated in appropriate humor. The business is decorated wonderfully with great ambiance. Negatives are sounds of people talking in adjacent rooms, and the kneeling on the floor was very difficult. The experience is not for anyone with mobility issues.
