Buses cannot access the boat terminal, so enjoy a 15-minute walk along the promenade filled with refreshing ions from the parking lot. Takachiho Gorge’s rental boats can accommodate up to three people.

Yunotsubo Kaido Street runs through the heart of the popular hot spring town of Yufuin, stretching from Yufuin Station to Lake Kinrinko. Beppu Onsen, located on Oita’s east coast, is one of Japan’s most renowned hot spring towns. It produces more hot spring water than any other location in the country, and the sight of the townscape with rising steam is remarkable. Beppu is particularly famous for its “hells” (jigoku), hot springs that exceed 100 degrees Celsius. Although too hot for bathing, each has its own unique character.
