- Ayutthaya - Around noon time you will transfer to the pier by Pasak River and cruise along Pasak River to meet Chaophraya River while enjoying an international buffet lunch. On the way you will cruise pass a Royal Monastery a Church and a Mosque. Once an important center of global diplomacy and commerce, Ayutthaya is now an archaeological site, characterized by the remains of tall prang (reliquary towers) and Buddhist monasteries of monumental proportions, which give an idea of the city’s past size and the splendor of its architecture.
- Wat Mahathat - Then, visit Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya. One of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya, it once housed the Buddha’s holy relic. Admire the famous Buddha head entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree.
- Wat Phra Sri Sanphet - Your next stop is Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, being part of the royal palace complex this is where royalty performed rituals. It is considered the most important temple of Ayutthaya.

Temples tour - Wow, what an amazing day! Uncle Sam was a great guide and we saw some brilliantly interesting temples - so much history in such a short time. Buffet lunch in the middle of a great day and loads of drinks - which was much needed as it was hot!!!

Probably the best value trip for Ayutthaya! - Our guide had an encyclopedic knowledge of Bangkok and Thailand, the trip itself was very organised and enjoyable. The buffet was excellent.

Worth the money and time - Our guide Jome was excellent. She knew the history and her English was good. The site is much larger than I expected so the bus took us to 3 different areas. Lunch was on the cruise and was a buffet and excellent. There was afternoon tea also.

Great tour ! - Great tour ! It was a very relaxed tour .. we chose to get the one way hotel transfer . We were picked up by taxi and transferred to the river city location.. given stickers so we knew which group we’d be in for the day. As we waited for other travellers to join we were able to grab brekky/snacks. Then off we went in an A/C coach .. our group was about 13 which was great cos there was so much room to spread out. We went straight to the ruins and went to 3 locations .. we had plenty of time to explore and our lovely guide gave us facts about each stop. Our guide Paisam (sorry I spelt his name wrong) but he was so knowledgeable and friendly!! Such a great person .. any questions he was happy to answer .. After seeing the temple ruins + Buddha we went on a cruise back towards the city. We had a beautiful lunch / tea and coffee ! Lunch consisted of a mixed buffet of Thai and western food .. staff were friendly. Once we made it to port we were all transferred back to the starting point at River city. Transfer back to your hotel is not included however it’s very easy to catch a tuktuk or grab
Would definitely recommend this tour esp. cos of Paisam!!
**NOTE - we made a stop at one of the temples and had to use the bathroom. They don’t charge entry but ask for a donation BUT there’s no toilet paper. They charge 10THB for toilet paper so take your own. After we made our donation to go bathroom we found out after the fact, toilet paper is extra . 10THB is like 0.47cent AUD so it’s cheap but we had no small change as we gave the only cash change we had as donation. So I’d recommend to bring your own toilet paper OR make sure u have cash on hand.

I would find a more affordable option - Company is not very responsive. River ride was great and food was very good. Guide didn't speak English very clearly and was a bit repetitive. There was lots of talking at the sites and little time to actually explore. Yet, I don'to think the deep history and significance of these sites were covered. Some sites were quite expansive and could have been covered more efficiently by driving.

Ayutthaya Day Tour by Bus & Boat - - Hotel transfer is good, very punctual,
- Visit to the old palaces/statues/
Temple good & pleasant by bus,
Pauses are taken (Toi.),
- Tour guide does not speak so well
English & likes to listen to speeches,
- ... then the change at lunchtime
to which has been in the years
straight excursion boat:
cold lunch buffet !!!!!
and tasteless coffee/tea later.... really grottobad and not worth its money ! Too bad... :-(
( conducted on Saturday, 09.02.2019,
06:30 - 16:15, booked via
EMIRATES portal, € 48.68/pers. ).

They never showed up - I booked this tour and received a confirmation of the hotel pickup time. I waited and waited, but they never showed up and never communicated with me. I had to go back and get a refund. I would definitely never book through Big Country Vacations again.

Absolutely avoid - Don’t expect to visit Ayutthaya with this tour: the bus only makes 3 stops at a run on sites that have little interest. None of Ayutthaya’s must-see sites are visited (Wat Chai Watthanaram, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon...).
The guide delivers her speech in a monochord tone that is difficult to follow, except when it comes to insisting on buying trinkets on the stands.
Barely 1h30 in Ayutthaya and already heading to Bang Pa-In Palace: it’s pretty but no historical interest.
We preferred to leave the tour and go back in tuk tuk to Ayutthaya and enjoy the rest of the day to quietly visit the city. Return to Bangkok by our own means (there are vans every 20min, 120 baths).
In short, an excursion that has no interest.
