Great experience!! - We had a fantastic time! It was rut season, so we were not able to interact with all of the reindeer (for our safety), but we did get to meet and feed Liesel, the 4 month old reindeer. She was such a sweetheart (until her toddler side kicked in 😂) and it was a fun experience. The owner was very kind and shared a lot of great information with us….. and answered all of our questions. 10/10 recommendations if you are in Talkeetna!

Cool Tour - We had tickets but when we got there they had cancelled the tour. The reindeer were in rut and they made the call for our safety. That said, they gave us a full refund and we still got the rest of the tour. He took us through the powerpoint and the history of the farm as well as talked to us about the reindeer.
The building was really cool, it was an old pub and one of the patrons had painted the ceiling in the fashion of the Sistine Chapel, in return for beer. It's really beautiful.
We were disappointed not to get the meet the reindeer but we understood why they couldn't allow it. They really did put our safety first. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely try again.

Loved the Experience - Even though it was pouring rain on our scheduled day, the encounter with the deer was great. The owner gave us a lot of information prior to going out there, and Liesel was a real sweetheart deer.

Awesome experience! - My friends and I flew in from New Jersey & this was one of our many excursions we did. We loved the reindeer experience. It was a family owned business that made us feel right at home & welcomed. So knowledgeable and friendly, highly recommend.

Fun family activity. Relaxed interaction with the reindeer. - Relaxed atmosphere, small group interaction with the reindeer. It was really fun to be able to feed the reindeer without any pressure or hurry. We learned a lot about the reindeer as well as the philosophy of regenerative framing that the family is embracing for their property.

Family Trip to Alaska 2025 - We had such a great time at The Reindeer Grove. Graham was a wonderful host. This was a unique experience in our two week adventure exploring Alaska and a highlight for sure. Getting a glimpse into the life and goals of this family, seeing their beautiful home, store, and property, and petting and feeding their reindeer was an experience I would highly recommend for all ages. The joy of meeting these sweet creatures and their caretaker was really special for us.

Fun, family friendly, a taste of home life in Alaska- plus up close petting and feeding reindeer! - Fabulous time spent learning about reindeer and interacting with mother reindeer and their babies. The owner welcomes you into his home, offers drinks, and talks about the homestead. Afterwards, we went outside to meet the reindeer, which was very exciting. Adults and children alike, marveled at how soft and gentle they were. There was another tour that spent an additional hour walking on the homestead exploring herbs and flowers and their medicinal properties (separate tour that includes the meet and greet with the reindeer first). Overall, highly recommend for kids and adults for a unique experience!

Amazing reindeer feeding - The reindeer we ere really cool. My girls enjoyed the trip and really had fun feeding the reindeer. Make sure you go before the reindeer lose their velvet so you can feed them in their pen.

Feed and pet reindeer in the Alaskan woods! - We had a great time meeting Graham, his son, and his reindeer. We learned a lot about reindeer, which we expected, and a lot about living in a small town in Alaska, which was a fun bonus. We enjoyed getting up close to the reindeer and being able to pet and feed them. They were losing their winter coats so we got to really feel the difference between their fur and the hollow-hair winter layer.

Very Underwhelming - We went at the end of the day and found the reindeer were tired and by this time seemingly sick of the grain we were given to feed them. The bugs were brutal, and it was hard to watch the male reindeer constantly and violently twitch and stomp in an effort to get them off of him. I've had horses and a little spray on the coat would have put him in a much more comfortable position. We thought we'd be taking the reindeer for a walk along the wooded path but big guy was not having it. Understandably but disappointing. Instead we walked the path with a very pleasant girl who pointed out many plants along the way. Not exactly what we came for however. I probably would not recommend this. We felt this whole experience was very underwhelming for the price which was $75/each, not the $30 pp as advertised. They were trying hard though.
