Must do tour of the Vietnam war - If you’re looking for an informative, engaging and authentic insight into the regions history during the war then Vincent is the man. We found his tour in viator but contacted him directly as we wanted to ensure my vegan wife could be catered for. Vincent is very responsive and helpful. He has an excellent grasp of English and a passion for the history of Vietnam. The tour takes in several historical war sights including the US airforce base, My Son village complex and Ky Anh tunnels where we met one of the veterans who was involved in making in the tunnels. We also went to the largest Lady Buddha in SE Asia and pagoda. Still under construction but definitely worth seeing. It’s a very impressive place and still relatively quiet. Once completed it will be overwhelmed by tourists. Tip of the day. The only western toilets are at My Son (my leh) Memorial Museum. Great day which I would thoroughly recommend!

Meeting with Vietcong veteran - Impressive tour that goes to places where no other western tourists go. The guide is enthusiastic and capable. Especially the encounter with the Vietcong veteran made a deep impression.

Excellent, informative activity. Very interesting and value for money. - This was a long day but broken up into segments. Our guide had planned everything well. Confirming pick up time and location the day before and bring on time! . We were kept informed of the itinerary throughout the day. True to his word there were no hidden additional costs, entry fees and a light local lunch were all included. The transport was excellent, clean and comfortable. And our guide had excellent spoken English. The stops during our day were all so interesting with excellent explanations. We were also able to engage in general conversation during travel time learning our the local area and customs. The history and film in the museum was a hard watch but a necessary one! A trip not to be missed.

Unique experience - The visit to the war museum and the mass murder by the US of the inhabitants of MY LAI was impressive. The museum is small and intimate. The Dutch documentary that is shown is very moving and shows what a drama has taken place there. Only losers... The Vietcong tunnels also made a big impression. The tour is given by a war veteran who shows how inventive the Vietcong was. By entering the tunnels and the command center, history comes alive. The Golden Pagoda and the Lady Buddha built ten years ago was our first stop. The pagoda is huge, both the building but certainly also the interior. It is still being worked on, not all the color is applied yet Lady Buddha is the largest Buddha in Vietnam, 130 meters high. On the square in front of it are statues of animals, flowers and so on. Lunch was tasty and authentic. The only downside is that the travel time is quite long, but there is plenty to see along the way. The driver drives well and safely.

Highly recommended tour. - Wow what can i say about this very worthwhile excursion. We were looking for something different to do on our 2nd trip to Vietnam and found this tour. Vinh picked us up on time from the hotel and gave us an insight to the day ahead. First stop was the Golden Pagoda and Asia's tallest Lady Buddha standing at a magnificent 125m, we had plenty of time to walk round and take in the spiritual atmosphere of this amazing place, although still under constructikn you can see everything. The views are magnificent, and Vinh is clearly passionate about it. We then drove onto the museum at My Lai, this was an education and Vinh explained the full story of the massacre and what the villagers were put through, quite disturbing to think humans could do this to innocent people, very thought provoking. Walking round the remains of the villages and the graves of the victims was a very sombre experience. Lunch was at an authentic Vietnamese village canteen, shrimp spring rolls ,bbq pork and beef, plenty for us all. Our last stop was at Ky Anh tunnels, where we met a VC veteran who explained how the tunnels were built and used during the war. This was a long interesting and educational day. Vinh is passionate about what the trip is about, he looked after us and answered many many questions we both asked, a fantastic, passionate and enthusiastic guide. Also big thanks to our driver who was safe and helpful on a long trip. Highly recommend this tour.

Best Authentic War Tour - This tour was so educational and eye opening. I learned many things that they never talk about in American schools. The My Lai village was heartbreaking and uncomfortable and The Golden Pagoda was breathtaking. The tunnels were the highlight of the day though. We met a real Viet Cong Veteran who helped dig the tunnels and we walked through the watery tunnels with him. He was a sweet man and eager to tell us his story and the story of the Liberation Army. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable, also with family ties to the war. The driver was very safe and we had a delicious lunch at a local woman’s restaurant. This is a truly authentic experience and well worth the money and time. Everyone, especially Americans, should come take the time to learn about the war and its atrocities through the eyes of Vietnam.

A Must-Do in Vietnam - This was an incredible experience, I highly highly recommend booking this tour. You will get a firsthand perspective of what really happened during the Vietnam/American War. The Golden Pagoda was a gorgeous sight. The My Lai (Son My) massacre village was heartbreaking. Meeting a Viet Cong veteran who built the tunnels himself was an experience I’ll never forget. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and answered every question we had. If you’re in Vietnam, this tour is a great way to educate yourself on the history of the country, giving you a better perspective on the culture and the people that live here. It is a must-do even if you’re only in the area for a day.

Powerful and insightful tour experience - This tour was a highlight of our time in Vietnam. The video and sights at the My Lai museum were emotional and overwhelming, but I really appreciated being able to learn more about this horrific event. Vincent was amazing at answering our many questions. While the tunnels would have been impressive no matter what, it was an honor to hear from a veteran who helped build them. We were worried about all the driving time for this tour, but the stops were spread out nicely so the drive never felt too long. Overall, I think any visitor to Hoi An should take this tour as part of their trip!

Authentic experience - The tour was definitely a unique experience. We were the only ones who booked them that day so we luckily got a private tour experience which means they were very attentive to our needs. Vincent, the tour guide and operator, was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job and the country's history. The way the itinerary was planned out was also intelligent as the things mentioned from earlier places always had a connection to the places we visited later on. We also got to meet a war veteran, Mr. Thom, who was equally as passionate about the place's history. My only issue was that we were a little rushed in the war museum and in the My Lai 4 village. I wish we had a little more time to explore the rest of the museum and walk around on our own in the village so that we could internalize the history of the place. Other than that, the overall experience was lovely. Highly recommend!
