An absolute must do! - This was an amazing experience. Juan Carlos was a wealth of information about the ecosystem and the biodiversity of the estuary. He had a keen eye for sooting wildlife in the jungle and was able to educate all of us on the importance of everything that goes on the estuary system. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this tour. I can’t recommend it enough.

Wonderful family-run eco-tour - A brilliant family run business that facilitates local eco-tours across Guanacaste. Our guide Juan Carlos was incredibly knowledgeable about the region and all the flora/fauna in the habitat, patient in allowing us to capture any snapshots along the way, and brought great energy to the ride through the estuary. Came across a diverse array of crocodiles, hawks, howler monkeys, iguanas, and more living amongst the mangroves. Was truly a wonderful experience being able to learn more about Costa Rica's environmental initiatives, sustainability efforts, and highly recommend to anyone interested in the area.

Overall we had a good... - Overall we had a good experience. We saw a couple of crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas and birds. Would have preferred if the tour was only in English or the guide was better about translating everything in English and Spanish. He went off on tangent in only one language. Having a good guide really makes or breaks this experience.

Sounded better than it was…. - Not sure if it was the time of day (12:20pm), time of year (mid-July), or just the tour, but we didn’t see much wildlife while we were out. The best part of the tour was actually when we left the boat to hike 5 minutes and see a troop of monkeys in the trees. Other than that, just a few birds and a couple of hard-to-see crocodiles hiding under the mangroves. At the end of the tour, the tide was high and there were other boats dropping off people close to the starting point, so we were dropped off a couple hundred yards away and had to walk through the mud and then 100 yards along the road to get back to where the car was parked. All-in-all it was not a very fun experience, especially given all of the great excursion choices.
