Visit Dar El Mekhzen, the Museum of Moroccan Arts in Tangier, showcasing a rich collection of Moroccan crafts. Enjoy a delightful tea at El Hafa coffee, a venue that has been around since the 1920s. Proceed to the big and small Socco: The big Socco, meaning market in Spanish, is located at the Medina’s entrance and is the town’s busiest spot. The Little Socco features a large mosque built in the 18th century on the ruins of an old Portuguese cathedral. Visit the United States Legation, the first American historic monument outside the United States. This small palace, located in the heart of the Kasbah, was gifted in 1821 by Sultan Moulay Sulaiman to the fifth President of the United States, James Monroe.
