Full day tour of Tangier, Morocco - We originally had booked a private half day tour of Tangier, however our tour guide from the company Viator chose emailed us to ask if we minded if we were in a small group tour. WE said of course not, and later found out everyone in our tour had gotten the same email. Our half day tour turned into a full day tour of tangier and it was amazing. I would not recommend this for anyone who is uncomfortable walking on cobblestone streets, or who uses a scooter or wheelchair. The sites our guide showed us were beautiful, we had a lovely lunch in the Medina and got to shop in the casbah. Tangier is a beautiful city in Morocco and has both Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts and the beaches were lovely. Our guide picked us up at the port where our ship had docked and dropped us off there too. We saw many large tour groups from our ship, and were incredibly glad we booked this tour as we got to see a lot more of Tangier with a small group tour.

Great tour - The tour guides were so friendly and it was delightful to have the camel ride included. The views were beautiful and we felt like we saw the best of Tangier.

Great tour but had a few kinks - The pick up was easy, they were waiting right outside our ship. We drove, and then later walked through areas we would not have seen on our own. Those that wanted to were able to ride camels on the beach. We did not go to the correct cave (?) As we walked through town Jamal provided us with lots of information and history, appreciated at different levels by our large group of 15- I enjoyed it. Some of the stores we went into felt like a sales pitch but that has happened on tours in other cities too. When special circumstances came up I felt he didn’t respond quickly enough.

Not what was expected from North Tours as advertised on TripAdvisor - Anwar from North Tours messaged us the day before and asked us to wait at the Mosque outside of the Tangier Port for pick up at 10am. We thought he was our English speaking tour guide but he wasn’t. We were there 10 mins earlier than 10 am, but our driver, Mohammed, didn’t arrive until 10.15 am and he could speak very little English. So much for having an English speaking guide! He was nice enough and kept apologising for not knowing much English, but it was frustrating trying to find out information about Tangier when he could really only point to and name various sights. When we got to Cap Spartel we had know information about what we were looking at and no admission into the lighthouse. The camel ride along the beach was a good experience and the cost was included in the tour as stated. Cave of Hercules, advertised as admittance included, also was deceiving, as it was only for entry into the smaller cave not the larger historical one with the map of Africa in it. We had to pay extra to enter and if you wanted a guide to tell you about what you were seeing, it was more cost again. We had Norddine take over the tour for the visit to the Old town of Medina and the Kasbah. Thank goodness he spoke good English so we actually got something out of the experience! When we finished the tour it was advertised we would be returned to where we were picked up from, but once again we were misled by Anwar and North Tours, and ended up having to walk back to our ship. Unless they improve by ensuring they have English speaking guides for English speaking people, include admissions they state and pick up and drop off as they say on their advertisement, I wouldn’t recommend them to others.

Not as advertised - We didn't have a good experience with this excursion. We booked a private tour for 8:30am. The day before it was changed to a group tour at 9am. Was picked up at 9:30am. No free time to explore or shop on our own. Were taked to specific shops, rug and spice shops. Then taken to a restaurant not of our choosing. Given a set meal with a set price of $35 a person. Didn't come with admissions to Hercules cave, had to pay ourselves. Be forewarned.

Horrible visit - Guided tour absolutely null. I booked a French guide who didn't speak French. My tour included all the entrances to each monument off the guide told me it was not included in the price. I strongly advise against it. I stopped the tour and asked for a refund. Of the 106 euros I paid, I am refunded 36 euros. A total scam. Don’t go there!

Bad tour. No cave. - I would not recommend this tour. Its a scam. These people are working with the shops in the kasbah to try to get you to spend money. It started good. They picked up our group in a nice van from the cruise port. Jamal was our guide and he was nice, spoke english and was infirmative. He took us to cape spartel and the camels. Both were good. After that it got bad. We got to the cave of hercules but we didn't actually see the cave even though it says the tour includes admission. He took us to a small man made cave where they were trying to sell stuff. Complete tourist trap. When we came out I saw the actual cave entrance with an admission price and when I asked if we could enter he said there's nothing to see in there and we have to go. Next stop was the kasbah, which is the fortified old town. Beautiful to see but Jamal dragged this portion out for way too long giving us unnecessary information, stopping to talk for long periods of time. The main goal here was to take us to all his friends shops to try to get us to spend money. When our group decided we had enough and wanted to leave, he continued to take us to more shops on the tour and did not want to stop. It started to feel like we were trapped and the local peddalars become very aggressive trying to sell stuff and did not want to take no for an answer. The day just took a weird turn and left us with a bad taste in our mouth.

Don't book it! - The guide I had paid in Italian was not there and so I took a tour in Spanish .. It said in the program that you had included several entrances like two museums and a synagogue but it was not like that at all... that is, we did not really go! At cap spartel you don't enter you see it only from the square unless you pay out of your own pocket... same thing to the caves of Hercules you only pass to the free part! I paid about 67€ for a private taxi, without even the air, a camel ride on the beach and explanations given during the drive! The few places visited were all free and so I requested a refund for a tour I didn't do!!! Only positive note the first guide was kind because then they left us to a gentleman who tried only to bring us into the medina to make us spend money!

Scam and a waste of time. Avoid this company. - The tour guide let me know that I was the only person on the tour and I had hoped that would mean that I would be given more time and information. However, that was not the case. Very soon, I realised that the point of the tour was for the driver and the tour guide to engage in an ongoing conversation and for the guide to catch up with his friends. I gave up trying to ask questions when I was brushed aside every time. I said that I didn’t want a camel ride ( due to concerns about their treatment), but I was literally told” it’s in the tour” “ you have fifteen minutes. Go there, there and there”. It would have been in the car park and not on the beach as people expect. The tour guide had a great time with his friends while I wandered around aimlessly. I was asked if I wanted to go shopping after the tour and I said that I wanted to buy small souvenirs for my family. Immediately, much to my surprise, the guide launched into a hard sell for carpets! I said no and was then introduced to another guide at the Medina with the original guide saying goodbye and ending his tour. This second guide showed me the barest minimum with none of the promised food tasting and took me to a carpet shop! After I managed to get away, the first guide reappeared and it became apparent that the whole thing was a scam worked out between the guides to try and make more money out of me. I asked to be shown more of the Medina and unbelievably I was taking to another carpet shop! This was an expensive waste of time and the whole thing is an elaborate scam.
