A really worthwhile visit and a place not to be missed. - On arrival we were greeted by really pleasant and helpful staff and allocated the most amazingly knowledgeable guide Vicki who really impressed us with her undoubted knowledge, but above all, her love for Chateau, its history and beautiful surroundings. The tour was amazing and we never seemed to be hurried and time was taken to fully answer our questions and enquiries. Following the guided tour were treated a the most informative of tasting sessions enabling us to sample the delightful wines produced here from what are very cosseted vines. Thank you for an amazing visit to your beautiful Vineyard and winery, However very special thanks to Vicki our wonderful guide.

Great wine great gardens - My husband and I did the chateau tasting tour with the lovely Rachel as our guide. As we are not red wine drinkers we put Rachel to the test, and she passed with flying colours. We ended up joining the wine club and getting x6 bottles of a lovely SA Christmas wine as presents for work colleagues. The gardens are so picturesque it was just nice walking around the grounds. Great job Rachel you made our day!

Private Guided Tour - Small but Fine - Already with a lot of kindness we were welcomed for our 'Private Château Tour and Tasting' in the beautifully designed wine cellar of Tanunda Castle. With expertise, but also with a lot of humor, our guide introduced us to the history of the castle and its wines. The wine tasting at the end of the tour was also generous and informative. Sparkling, white, red and a port wine were offered for tasting. The environment, location and friendliness of the staff made our Private Tasting Tour at Chateau Tanunda a short but worthwhile experience.

Well worth a visit! - We did a wine tasting with Alex who had excellent knowledge of the wines and the area. The building itself is amazing with lots of history. We only chose to do a few tastings in the Barossa area due to time restraints, and we were very glad we chose Chateau Tanunda. Shipping wine home was easy & only $15 to Sydney. Most of the wines in the set tasting selection were spot on with our likes, with Alex an extra 1 or 2 as he discovered what we were looking for. Lovely relaxing hour!

So Glad we called in on the off chance 😊 - Wow! An absolute gem of an impromptu visit. We were doing a self guided Barossa Valley tour and saw Chateau Tanunda sign posted. A bit of research told us about their tours and tastings. We couldn’t book on line so took a chance at cellar door and asked for a tour. They could fit us in a couple of hours later so, we explored elsewhere and came back for a thoroughly enjoyable tour, some history and a delicious wine tasting. They could not have been friendlier or more accomodating. Needless to say we left with a couple of bottles purchased at cellar door. A great experience in everyway. 😊

Must visit if you are in the area - This winery is over 130 years old. The beautiful bluestone building alone is worth the visit. The cellar door is spacious and exquisitely laid out, with one wall detailing the history of the company. Sharon was our host and she was very knowledgeable about the wines they make. Their old vines collection is excellent, just a bit pricey.
