It is also among the initial locations in Africa where the earliest Acheulean was discovered, establishing the traditional understanding of the Oldowan-Acheulean transition.

Climbing Mt. Oldeani

Lake Eyasi - Ascend Mount Oldeani.

Begin early at 6:00 am with a short drive to the starting point for the climb. Reach the summit and return by approximately 5:00 pm.

The majestic Mount Oldeani is situated on the southeast rim of the Ngorongoro National Park. While it is well-known locally, it remains largely undiscovered by tourists. The mountain is located just off the main tourist route through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and is visible from afar. Oldeani is one of the Ngorongoro volcanoes and drains directly into the northeast end of Lake Eyasi. Due to its elevation, it offers breathtaking views over the expansive plains of Tanzania. Despite being a prominent feature in the landscape, few tour guides offer climbs up the mountain. Nevertheless, it is very close to the main game driving route through the Ngorongoro Crater and is easily visible.

Tarangire National Park - Game Drive

Tarangire National Park - Situated slightly off the main safari route, Tarangire National Park is a charming, tranquil park in Northern Tanzania. It is best known for its elephant migration, birdwatching, and genuine safari ambiance. Many travelers to the area either skip Tarangire entirely or only spend a few hours there, leaving large areas of the park virtually untouched!
