Arusha to Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - Depart from your Arusha hotel at 7:30 am and embark on a 7 to 8-hour drive to Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater, arriving in Serengeti around 3:00 pm.

In the evening, you’ll go on a game drive in central Serengeti, where you can witness a beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Seronera campsite within the park.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - Rise early at 5:45 am for breakfast and a sunrise view in Serengeti. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive until 11:30 am, then return to the campsite for a hot lunch and pack your belongings into the jeep. Serengeti National Park boasts the highest concentration of large mammals globally, so expect to see giraffes, elephants, hippos, and lions, as well as over 500 bird species, including ostriches and flamingos. Your driver will aim to cover the main areas of central Serengeti.

After lunch, continue your game drive while heading to Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll have dinner and stay overnight at Simba campsite.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater - Wake up around 5:30 am for breakfast, then descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Here, you’ll have the chance to see the Big Five and various bird species, including the black rhino. Enjoy lunch inside the crater while observing nature and the high concentration of flamingos. The crater is home to over 6,000 wildebeest, 4,000 black-spotted hyenas, 2,000 zebras, 2,000 elands, 3,000 gazelles, 200 elephants, over 30 lions, 30 black rhinos, and many smaller animals like kobs, antelopes, jackals, hippos, and various bird species. This popular African attraction is the world’s largest inactive, unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera, formed approximately two and a half million years ago.

After 6 to 7 hours of game driving on the crater floor, you’ll ascend and drive back to Arusha.
