DAY 1: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire National Park - Following breakfast, the tour sets off. The first stop is Arusha Town for any last-minute shopping before embarking on the safari. We then proceed to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, enjoying a picnic lunch within the park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. It is central to an annual migration cycle that includes up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras. Dinner and overnight stay at Fig Lodge & Campsite.
DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Lake Manyara - After breakfast, the tour departs. The first stop is Arusha Town for any last-minute shopping before heading on safari. We then travel to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers stunning views and a diverse range of habitats, including acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab-strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the lake itself. This small park supports a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. Manyara boasts the largest concentration of baboons in the world, and its lions are famous for climbing trees. Dinner and overnight stay at Fig Lodge & Campsite.
DAY 3: NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After an early breakfast, descend over 600 meters into the crater to observe wildlife. With a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the crater’s main features. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. Late afternoon transfer to Arusha.
Arusha to Materuni Waterfalls, Coffee Tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs
Materuni Waterfalls - Materuni is home to the Chagga tribe and remains an authentic tribal village. This delightful place is just 15km from Moshi Town and is the last village before Kilimanjaro National Park.
Coffee Tour - But that’s not all. Next, the coffee experience awaits. Here, learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and processed. You will also be invited to assist with grinding the coffee, traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse in the local culture. Before departing, savor the coffee you made and enjoy the views of the surrounding rainforest.
Kikuletwa Hot Springs - After the coffee tour in Materuni, continue to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. The journey to the hot springs takes about an hour and 20 minutes, partly over bumpy roads. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon as you wish, whether sunbathing, chatting with locals at the small bar, or swimming – the choice is yours. Depart the hot springs in the late afternoon (just before sunset) and return relaxed to the airport. Note: Remember to bring swimwear, hiking shoes, and a towel.
