Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, travel to Serengeti National Park, with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge. Millions of years ago, this site was a large lake, its shores layered with volcanic ash deposits. Excavations were initiated by Louis and Mary Leakey in 1931. Serengeti National Park covers 14,763 km² (5,700 square miles) of grassland plains, savanna, riverine forest, and woodlands. Located in the north, it borders the national Tanzania and Kenyan border, connecting with the Masai Mara National Park Reserve. Spend the night at Seronera Campsite.

Serengeti National Park - Begin the day with a full-day game drive in the Serengeti plains. The endless, almost treeless grassland of the south is the park’s most iconic landscape. Numerous hoofed animals, including zebra, gazelle, impala, hartebeest, topi, buffalo, and waterbuck, are present throughout the year. Enjoy a second night at Seronera Campsite.

Serengeti National Park To Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - Receive a wake-up call at 6:00 am for a quick cup of hot coffee before embarking on an early morning game drive. This drive is crucial for witnessing early morning hunts by the big five, if fortunate. Return to the Lodge by 9:30 am for a hearty breakfast, then check out and continue with game drives en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. Overnight at Simba Camp.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a tour. This World Heritage site is the world’s largest “caldera,” featuring cliffs approximately 600 meters high that drop to a vast open area of about 246 square km. You may encounter elephants, lions, and, with luck, the nearly extinct black rhino, amidst large herds of zebra and wildebeest. In the afternoon, exit the crater and drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Karatu to Arusha National Park

Karatu - After breakfast, visit a nearby local village, relax, or shop if time permits, then transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport.
