Memorable adventure - We’ve just returned from the six-day safari in Tanzania and overall it was an incredible experience. The wildlife sightings were outstanding, the landscapes were breathtaking, and our guides was knowledgeable, patient and clearly passionate about the parks. We felt safe, well looked after, and the food prepared at camp was surprisingly good. That said, for anyone choosing the camping option, there are a few practical things worth knowing in advance... Towels were not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own. Pillows were also not always available, which made some nights a little less comfortable. In addition, the sleeping bags provided have clearly been well-used. While functional and warm enough, some had a noticeable odour. If you’re sensitive to that sort of thing, you may prefer to bring your own sleeping bag liner or even your own bag if space allows. None of this took away from the magic of seeing Tanzania’s wildlife up close, but better communication beforehand about what is (and isn’t) included would help manage expectations. Overall, it was a memorable adventure and great value for money — just go prepared if you’re camping.
