Mikumi National Park - Day 1: Journey from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi + Game Drive
Guests will be collected from their hotel in Dar es Salaam in the morning to begin the trip to Mikumi National Park. The drive, which takes around 6 to 7 hours, offers stunning views of landscapes and local villages. Upon reaching Mikumi, an afternoon game drive awaits, with opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and more. Later, guests will be transferred to Camp Bastian for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Game Drive at Mikumi + Evening Maasai Visit

Mikumi National Park - After an early breakfast, guests will embark on a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, enjoying a picnic lunch within the park. They will explore various areas and witness wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, and diverse bird species. In the evening, a visit to a nearby Maasai village is planned to learn about their culture and traditional lifestyle. Return to Camp Bastian for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Transfer to Udzungwa Mountains & Return to Mikumi

Udzungwa Mountains National Park - After breakfast, guests will depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, approximately a 1.5-hour drive. A guided hike through the tropical forest will offer sightings of endemic monkeys, birds, and stunning waterfalls like Sanje Falls. After the hike and a picnic lunch, return to Mikumi in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Camp Bastian.

Transfer from Mikumi to Nyerere National Park + Sunset Boat Safari

Nyerere National Park - Following an early breakfast, guests will leave Mikumi and travel to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), a journey of about 6 to 7 hours through picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, check-in at the lodge is followed by a relaxing sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River, offering chances to see hippos, crocodiles, birds, and possibly elephants by the riverbanks. Dinner and overnight at the Selous Safari Lodge.

Full Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

Nyerere National Park - After an early breakfast, guests will set out for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park with a packed lunch. They will explore the park’s vast and wild landscapes, home to a rich variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. The drive will cover both woodland and riverine habitats. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Walking Safari & Transfer to Dar es Salaam

Nyerere National Park - The day begins with an early morning walking safari led by an armed ranger, providing a unique opportunity to experience the bush up close and learn about animal tracks, plants, and the ecosystem. After breakfast, guests will start the journey back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, they will be dropped off at their accommodation or the airport, marking the end of the tour.
