Kilimanjaro National Park - After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel around 8:00 am and transferred to Lemosho gate, located on the western side of Kilimanjaro. After arriving at Lemosho gate, Nafika tours will handle all pre-hike formalities and once complete you will start your Kilimanjaro climb. Your first day hike is through the forests of the Lemosho glades to reach Big Tree Camp where will stay your first night.

The Lemosho route is considered the most scenic trail on Kilimanjaro, granting panoramic views on various sides of the mountain. As one of the newer routes, Lemosho is a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of low crowds, beautiful scenery, and a high summit success rate.

The majority of our clients climb Kilimanjaro using the Lemosho route and their feedback on this route is excellent. We highly recommend the Lemosho route to our clients. The climb begins at Lemosho Gate at an altitude of 2360 meters, with a western approach. It then circles around Kilimanjaro to the south, passing through majestic rainforest, home to some of the region’s most unique wildlife. The route continues up to Shira Ridge; the mountain’s third summit.

A Life-Changing Kilimanjaro Experience with Nafika Tours - Climbing Kilimanjaro with Nafika Tours was an unforgettable journey. As a local company, they are incredibly well-organized, professional, and truly understand what you need to succeed. From the very beginning, I felt I was in safe hands.
During the quiet moments whether trekking through breathtaking landscapes or resting in the tent after a long day the guides shared stories about their lives, their country, and their culture. Their kindness, humor, and deep knowledge made every step of the journey more meaningful.
Though the trek lasts just over a week, you quickly realize how essential every member of the Nafika Tours team is. Their encouragement, expertise, and dedication help you push past your limits and achieve your dream of reaching the summit. Kilimajaro Honeymoon - Climbing Kilimanjaro was the hardest thing we have ever done. When we decided to do it, we didn't conduct much research; we simply planned to attempt it while in Tanzania for our honeymoon.
Upon arrival, we looked for trustworthy tour guides, as we had read about scams online. We were initially skeptical about booking online, but choosing this local tour guide turned out to be a fantastic decision! Elias was incredibly helpful, always easy to contact, and assisted us with all our questions and concerns. He even managed to organize everything at the last minute.
The team that accompanied us on our Kilimanjaro climb was professional and extremely supportive. Even when we felt it was impossible, they cheered us on and encouraged us every step of the way. We were often the last ones on the trail each day, and we doubted whether we would be able to reach the summit under the circumstances. However, our tour guides always believed in us, remained patient, and never once criticized us. Their unwavering support made all the difference—without them, we wouldn’t have made it!

The best local company for your Kilimanjaro climbing! - We were fortunate to have selected Nafika Tours to guide our team of 6 people to the top of Kilimanjaro. They were the ultimate professional outfit from the guides to the logistics to the food to the health and safety. I would highly recommend using Nafika Tours if you plan on climbing Kilimanjaro. Their expertise and attention to detail made all the difference in our success in reaching the summit as all 6 of our climbers reached the summit along the Lemosho Route.

The best is the Nafika team - Choosing to contact Nafika from the Google map reviews, the contact Elias responded enthusiastically to reassure people, the team made every effort to save a life, no replies.
Tents and restaurants along the campsite

Once a life Great climb - I will never forget the moment when I finally reached Stella Point, standing breathless in the golden morning sunlight. The thin air burned my lungs, but the view across Kilimanjaro's crater rim was pure magic. Thanks to our guide’s relentless encouragement — 'Pole pole!' ('Slowly, slowly!' in Swahili) — we embraced the struggle step by step. Each shuffle through volcanic scree felt like a conversation with gravity, yet together, we defied it. Reaching Uhuru Peak wasn’t just a climb; it was a testament to human grit and shared joy. This mountain? Absolutely in love.

Best Kilimanjaro experience with the Best team - I had an amazing trip with Nafika on the Lemosho route! From the very first emails to the journey itself, everything was so well-organized. They provided plenty of information, excellent equipment, and a fantastic team of guides and porters.
Our group was small just four of us but we had an incredible support team, including two wonderful guides, Elisafi and Frank. Before we even started, they made sure we had everything we needed, checking our equipment and offering extras if we had forgotten anything. The tents were comfortable, the dining area was well set up, and there was always more food than we could eat!
Every evening, we had a health check, a briefing for the next day, and the team was always happy to adjust plans or help in any way.
A special thanks to our amazing guides, Elisafi and Frank; our talented cook, Anold; and one of our hardworking porters, Adamu I hope to see him as a guide very soon!

Mount Kilimanjaro with Nafika - We were 5 climbers and had 3 guides and 20 porters all organized by Elias of Nafika Tours. I could not have asked for a better experience and team. The Nafika crew was the best on the mountain with regards to organization, positive energy, and friendliness. We clearly had the best guides and campsites!!! Would do all over again with Nafika and highly recommend them. Benson, Elias, and Frank were amazing guides, there for you all the time.

Highly Recommended Professional Operator for your Kilimanjaro Climb - We had an amazing experience with the Nafika tours team. Our group of 5 inexperienced climbers took on the Lemosho route to successfully summit Mount Kilimanjaro. I had contacted the owner Elias a few months ago as we planned the trip. He was patient and answered numerous questions prior to the trip.
I can’t say enough about the team we climbed with. They were fun, experienced, thoughtful, positive and professional. If it weren’t for their help and words of encouragement, I don’t think we would have had such a successful trip. We sang, ate well, slept comfortably and danced our way up the mountain.
Some considerations as you plan your trip. Book early, reach out to Elias with any questions, consider portable toilets if you can, also we stayed at Kosovo base camp over Barafu camp which was quite helpful in reducing your summit climb (special permit and added cost).
Our guides Eli and Benson were great and the chef Arnold made great veggie and non-veg food for our different dietary needs.
All in all Nafika tours was excellent and we all would highly recommend them.

Review of Nafika Tours Lemosho Route Jan 2025 - Our tour with Nafika was absolutely incredible. I can't say enough positive things about the company and the team. Elias was incredibly professional and organized during the planning process. Our team of guides (Eli, Benson, Frank) were skilled, enthusiastic, supportive and kind. Our team of porters and all the associated staff were committed, enthusiastic, took pride in their work, and there were incredibly supportive. All of this made our experience exceptional. The climb was hard and I don't know if we would have made it to summit without such a wonderful team. I would definitely recommend the Nafika group. They are local with extensive ties to the community. It felt great to go with this team! Thank you Elias and all members of Nafika.

An experience of a lifetime!! - I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with 2 other solo travellers in a joining group and it was one of the most special experiences I have ever had! From the start, Nafika was always very organised and had excellent communication. I had no trouble at all booking the tour and they quickly answered all my questions. During the hike itself, the mountain crew provided the utmost support and encouragement. They were prepared for every scenario, with detailed briefing before each segment of the hike given by the guides. Each meal was cooked with fresh ingredients and delicious to taste!! Overall, the entire crew was so kind and generous, and their encouragement throughout the 7 day hike made the biggest difference in my success to the top at Uhuru Peak!!
I highly, HIGHLY recommend climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with Nafika Tours. It was truly an experience of a lifetime!!
