“Professional, Affordable, and Full of Joy: Our Kilimanjaro Climb with Tanzania Smile Adventure” - Review I summited the Mount Kilimanjaro on 17th September 2025. Out of our group of 4 people, 3 people successfully reached the Uhuru Peak and one member of our group was seriously impacted by the altitude sickness that hampered their plans to reach the summit. Once we made the decision to climb Kilimanjaro early in the year, we researched the best time of the year, which route to take and most importantly, which tour operator to trust to take us through the most memorable experience of our lives. We decided on a Tanzania based operator for ethical, moral reasons and affordability. After much research we narrowed down our options to @Tanzania Smile Adventure. The owner, Bazil was excellent in providing the information promptly and answered all our questions in a clear and confident manner gaining our trust and confidence in their ability and professionalism. I say wholeheartedly that we made the perfect choice in choosing Tanzania Smile Adventure . They were just amazing throughout from advising on the packing list, making arrangements to pick us up from the Kilimanjaro airport, comfortable hotel stay in Moshi with spectacular views of the Mount Kilimanjaro from the terrace from the hotel, gear check the day before and superb communication.. We hired majority of the good quality climbing gear, sleeping bags and pillows and clothing etc from them at a very low cost. On 14th September, we set off with our guides, Jackson and Peter from the hotel after breakfast, met rest of the crew on the way to the Lemosho gate. The communication from the guides was excellent in explaining the potential delays during the registration process and looked after us by providing chairs and table-clothed tree trunk table to sit and have lunch. They made the walk enjoyable through the forest by sharing knowledge, pointing out wild life, taking photos and setting the pace, pole pole and a few break outs of Punjabi dance, Gidha, with me during the subsequent days 😍 I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to the guides, Jackson and Peter, who were knowledgeable, confident and advised and guided us through every step of the way and instilled confidence through their motivational and delightful interactions, capturing memories with our cameras and made the climb an enjoyable experience. They monitored our health, watched our every step and guided us to stay safe, had daily briefings advised on the plans for the next day and what to wear every day. They went over and beyond my expectations in keeping me safe and healthy. One night, my hot water bottle leaked soaking my sleeping bag; Jackson came to the rescue by offering his dry sleeping bag. Accepting his dry sleeping bag and was an emotionally challenging decision for me but he was convincing. The guides were particularly supportive and caring when things didn’t go well and they sat down with us explaining all the available options and helping us to make sound decisions. My special thanks to Micheal, our chef, who produced amazing meals to keep our energy levels up. Obed and Raphael were our summit porters, carried our backpacks, put water to our lips, zipped on and zipped off our jackets as we blew hot and cold on the summit night, provided ginger tea on the way to the summit and offered the right support at the right time. We couldn’t have done without them. A heartfelt gratitude to Joshua and Richard for service with a smile and ensuring we had everything on time from 6.00 am morning tea to last drink of the night (for me it was hot milk). The porters were lifeline of the whole operation, carrying heavy loads, offering a helping hand at every opportunity to carry our backpacks, their cheerful disposition and humble hospitality made my heart melt. Each time I said thank you to the crew members, a humble reply came back, ‘thank you, we are here because of you’ showing their appreciation for having a means to earn a living. A sincere gratitude to Rashid, Jummane, Kisali, Patrick, Adam, Augustine, Raby, Fadhil, Erasto, Emanuel, Joseph and Timoth for their dedication and literally carrying the load of the project! Overall, we made the right choice with Tanzania Smile Adventure and indebted to them for their hard work, dedication, brilliant organisation, communication and planning, specialist knowledge and looking after us with great care and commitment. Thank you Tanzania Smile Adventure for making our dreams come true and safely led us to the roof of Africa ! I fully recommend Tanzania Smile Adventure for your lifetime experience!

Lemosho climb - Thank you Tanzania Smile Adventures for taking us up and down the mountain and for everything before and after the climb. What a trip- the food was great- I don’t know how you manage to create the meals with such limited resources. The porters do so much; carrying all our bags, the equipment, food etc from one camp to another as well as ensuring the camps run smoothly…….. and the guides offer their expertise and knowledge from start to finish. An unforgettable trip.
