First Day at Mikumi

Mikumi National Park - The adventure begins bright and early with a pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar City, followed by a transfer to the ferry terminal. You’ll board a morning ferry and enjoy a picturesque journey across the Indian Ocean to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city.

Upon reaching Dar es Salaam, you’ll take a train heading towards Mikumi National Park. The train ride offers stunning views of the landscape. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Mikumi National Park and embark on your first game drive. The park’s expansive savannah and open floodplains provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. During the drive, you might see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, antelopes, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the shade. The adventure continues until late afternoon when you leave the park and head to your lodge or tented camp.
In the evening, you will check in at the lodge, unwind after the day’s excitement, enjoy dinner, and spend the night enveloped by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Second Day at Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park - The second day begins early with a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. This is an ideal time to observe wildlife, as animals are most active during the cooler hours. You might witness predators returning from a night hunt, herds grazing peacefully, and birds starting their morning songs as the sun rises over the savannah.

After the game drive, you’ll return to the lodge for breakfast. Following breakfast, you will visit a Maasai Village, then check out and begin the journey back to Zanzibar.

In the afternoon, you will fly to Zanzibar Airport. The return journey offers a chance to relax and reflect on your safari experience. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred back to your hotel, concluding your 2-day, 1-night Mikumi Safari from Zanzibar.
