Mount Kilimanjaro - Guests are picked up from their hotel in Moshi or nearby areas and driven to Machame Gate for registration. Here, they will meet the rest of the team, including the cook and porters. The trek begins through the rainforest to an overnight camp, taking approximately 6 hours.
Machame Camp (2980m) - Shira Camp (3650m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - The journey continues from Machame Camp to Shira Camp. Although this is a shorter day, the trails are steep, rocky, and dusty. The pace will be slow but steady, with plenty of breaks. The route is mostly exposed, offering little shade from the sun.
Shira Camp (3650m) - Barranco Camp (3895m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - The climb begins towards Lava Tower, with a lunch stop around noon. For those interested, there is an option to climb the Lava Tower at 4526m, which serves as a good test for altitude sickness. Be cautious of mild headaches. After Lava Tower, the descent to Barranco Camp takes about 2 hours through dusty and rocky trails.
Barranco Camp (3950m) - Karanga Camp (4100m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - After breakfast, the trek continues up a steep ridge to the adventurous Barranco Wall, leading to the Karanga Valley where there is a junction connecting to the Mweka Trail.
Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Mount Kilimanjaro - The ascent continues towards Barafu Camp, offering a variety of breathtaking views of the summit from different angles. An early dinner and rest are planned in preparation for summit night.
Barafu Camp (4681m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka Camp (3090m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - The journey to the summit begins between midnight and 2 am, aiming to reach the peak by sunrise. The route continues between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, heading northwest towards Stella Point on the crater rim. This is the most mentally and physically challenging part of the hike. At Stella Point (5700m), a short rest is taken, offering a chance to witness a magnificent sunrise (weather permitting). From Stella Point, snow may be encountered on the 1-hour ascent to the summit. Fortunately, the summit is visible at eye level. At Uhuru Peak, climbers reach the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the African continent, providing ample opportunities for photos and memories. The descent continues straight down to the Mweka Hut campsite, with a stop at Barafu for lunch.
Mweka Camp (3090m) – Mweka Gate (1641m) – Moshi
Mount Kilimanjaro - After an early and well-deserved breakfast, a short 4 to 6-hour scenic hike leads back to the park gate. Some hikers may experience knee issues, potentially extending the descent time. It is advised not to tip porters until all gear has safely reached the gate. At Mweka Gate, climbers sign their names and details in a register. Successful climbers receive summit certificates: a green certificate for those reaching Stella Point (5739m) and a gold certificate for those reaching Uhuru Peak (5895m). The company provides a completion medal as a souvenir and memory of the achievement. A vehicle will transport guests from Mweka Village back to their hotel in Moshi.
