Serengeti National Park - Enjoy breakfast at 6:30 am. You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha around 7:00 am and embark on a journey to the Serengeti (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq miles) with a packed picnic lunch, experiencing game drives along the way via the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Serengeti National Park is considered one of the most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries globally. From December to March, the vast plains of the southern Serengeti and the Conservation Area are teeming with large herds of wildebeest and zebra. In April and May, they move to the Western Corridor, June and July to Serengeti North, and in October and November to the Lobo and Loliondo controlled Area. Even when the migration is not active, the Serengeti offers some of the most thrilling game drives in Africa. As the day cools and the sky is painted with red, gold, and orange hues, you might hear the roar of a lion, see a giraffe galloping, or hear the high-pitched giggles of hyenas fighting over a kill. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Serengeti National Park - Embark on very early morning game drives in the Serengeti National Park. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am. Afterwards, drive with your packed lunch to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, enjoying an afternoon game drive en route. On the way to the crater rim, you have the option to visit Olduvai, the first site where traces of an early stone tool culture were discovered, giving the name to Oldupai. This gorge is where the English duo, Louis and Mary Leakey, pioneered excavation work. In the 1960s, some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution were found here, and a small museum documents these discoveries. You can also choose to visit the shifting sands. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Ngorongoro Crater Floor - Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater - Breakfast is at 6:00 am. Then, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor (19.2 km in diameter, 610m deep, 304 sq km) for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world, home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater hosts a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this stunning crater is its large population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as ‘Africa’s Garden of Eden’ and the ‘5th Natural Wonder of Africa’. This breathtaking oasis provides a sanctuary for both predator and prey to coexist among the grasslands. After the game drive and picnic lunch, drive back to Arusha for drop-off. Meal Plan: {B, L}.
