Following breakfast, the guide will collect the operator from their Arusha lodging and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This small yet varied park hosts flamingos, over 500 bird species, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and the renowned tree-climbing lions. Revel in the stunning landscapes ranging from grassy plains to woodlands and baobab-covered cliffs. Dinner and overnight stay at Panorama Camp.

Serengeti National Park - Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel up the crater highlands and pause at the rim for a breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater. Continue onward as the expansive Serengeti unfolds before you. The term “Serengeti” translates to “endless plains,” and this 18,000 sq km park is home to over two million wildebeest. From January to April, it serves as a birthing ground for wildebeest calves, along with numerous zebras and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow this migration in search of prey. Smaller animals like rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares may also be spotted along the way.

Begin the day very early with a morning safari before breakfast to observe the animals when they’re most active and to experience a stunning African sunrise over the savannah — one of Africa’s most unforgettable sights. After breakfast, head to Ngorongoro Crater, home to nearly every species of wildlife found in East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater boasts the highest density of animals anywhere on the planet, with rivers, swamps, a soda lake filled with flamingos, forests, and open grasslands. Look out for massive bull elephants with huge tusks, nourished by the crater’s mineral-rich soil. Upon arrival at the crater rim, enjoy spectacular views of this 600-meter-deep natural wonder before spending the night at a basic fixed tented camp.

Ngorongoro - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - Day 4: Ngorongoro – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart from Ngorongoro and drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, explore the park’s seasonal swamps, vast savannas, and the Tarangire River, where zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes can be spotted. Lions stalking their prey or leopards resting in the acacia trees above may also be witnessed. Dinner and overnight stay at Fanaka Camp.

Tarangire National Park - Arusha

Arusha - Day 5: Tarangire – Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive in Tarangire National Park before starting the journey back to Arusha. Have lunch en route while passing through scenic landscapes and Maasai villages. Arrive in Arusha in the late evening and be dropped off at the hotel, marking the end of an unforgettable 5-day Tanzania camping safari.
