After about two hours, you’ll reach Tarangire, where your driver-guide will manage park registration while you take a moment to stretch. Begin your first game drive through Tarangire’s iconic landscapes, renowned for its towering baobab trees and impressive elephant herds. Lunch will be enjoyed at a designated picnic site, followed by afternoon game drives until sunset. Lunch will be served at one of the designated picnic sites, likely at Naabi Hill Gate—the official entry point to Serengeti National Park. Here, you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs while your guide handles park registration and paperwork. By early afternoon, enter the Serengeti and begin your first game drive across its iconic plains. Expect to see big cats, grazing herds, and perhaps even the early signs of the Great Migration. As the sun sets, head to your accommodation at ThornTree Tented Lodge, Serengeti Green Hills Camp, or similar for dinner, where the sounds of the wild await. All meals are included.

The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word Siringit, meaning “endless plains”—and true to its name, the landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. Your guide will help you track wildlife across different habitats, from open savannah to rocky outcrops and riverbanks. Expect to encounter wildebeests, elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, elands, and—if luck is on your side—the elusive leopard. The park is also a haven for bird lovers, with a mix of resident and migratory species. Overnight at ThornTree Tented Lodge, Serengeti Green Hills Camp, or similar. All meals are included.

In the afternoon, begin the scenic drive back to Arusha (approximately 4 hours), where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
