Tarangire National Park - Begin the day with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro at 8:00 am, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full day of game drives within the park, where you can expect to see a diverse array of wildlife. Known for its large elephant herds, the park is also home to zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, waterbucks, baboons, dwarf mongooses, impalas, buffaloes, antelopes, and fringe-eared oryx. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards also inhabit the area. The park’s swamps attract numerous bird species, including green wood hoopoes, lovebirds, tall herons, white-bellied go-away birds, and giant kingfishers. On the drier terrain, you may encounter the kori bustard and the ostrich, the heaviest flying bird. After a full day of exploration, a 45-minute drive will take you to your accommodation.
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - Experience a full day of game driving in the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
Optionally, visit a Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands (additional cost) to meet the Elders, Warriors, women, and children, and learn about the culture, beliefs, and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe.
The Crater is renowned for offering some of Africa’s best game viewing, with a constant abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor. Descend 610 meters into the Crater to begin your safari adventure. Look out for the endangered black rhino, wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, elands, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and giant tusked elephants, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and scavengers like spotted hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs. Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
