Day 1: Dar es Salaam or Iringa – Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park - Guests will be picked up from their hotel or residence and travel south of Dar es Salaam along the Tanzania/Zambia Highway, enjoying a picnic lunch en route. An afternoon game drive in Mikumi National Park follows. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Camp/Lodge (L,D).

Covering 3,230 square kilometers, Mikumi National Park is a renowned destination in Tanzania. It is famous for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater kudu, wildebeest, roan, and sable antelope. Predators such as tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals are also present. Over 300 bird species have been recorded, including Eurasian migrants like the red-billed oxpecker, marabou stork, and lilac-breasted roller.

Mikumi National Park - Full Day Game Drive

Mikumi National Park - After breakfast, guests will embark on a full-day game drive in the park, with lunch at the hippo pool picnic site. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian.

Day 3: Mikumi – Udzungwa Mountains National Park – Mikumi National Park

Udzungwa Mountains National Park - After breakfast, guests will drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park with a picnic lunch. The journey is approximately 90 km. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Camp/Lodge (B,L,D).

Udzungwa Mountains National Park, spanning 1,990 sq. km, is Tanzania’s first terrestrial national park. It is renowned for its biologically diverse forest, with about 20-30% of its 200 animal and plant species being endemic. It is a stunning location for hiking and ranks among Africa’s top ten forests for bird conservation. Wildlife includes a variety of species such as water buffalo, leopards, elephants, and numerous reptiles and snakes.

Mikumi Park – Iringa or Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park - After breakfast, guests will enjoy a morning game drive in the park with a picnic lunch, followed by an early afternoon drive to Dar es Salaam (B,L).
