Tarangire National Park is a prominent destination within Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. The park’s name is derived from the Tarangire River, which flows through it. This river serves as the main source of fresh water for wildlife in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the dry season each year. The park’s natural landscape is characterized by Acacia woodlands and towering African Baobab trees, along with expansive swamp areas in its southern region. Both the river and the swamps attract a multitude of wildlife during Tanzania’s dry season. The park is famously known as an elephant haven due to its large elephant population.
