Disappointing - I've had lots of tour guides and this experience was unfortunately the worst. It was a private tour and the tour guide (I think his name was Deko?) spent most of the day chatting with our driver in Swahili and ignoring me in the back seat and then was critical of me for being quiet as if it were my job to spark conversation. The only time he spoke other than the beginning of the day was to ask me every few minutes if I was good, which got annoying after the 100th time. The excursions were also poorly executed. They had me snorkel in a place with constant waves from passing boats so I couldn’t enjoy it and took in a bunch of salt water. They tossed bread for the fish too, so it didn't even feel natural. Then the guide said we might not see any dolphins, but ultimately agreed to travel further out to find them. However, after arriving, we chased the dolphins around with other boats, which was chaotic, and the boat driver wouldn’t stop long enough for me to get good pictures and instead kept insisting I jump into the water. The tour guide brought no life jacket and was neglectful when I did get into the water, which was scary given I’d never been in that deep of ocean water before. I had to ask for a ladder to get back into the boat on more than one occasion, which should have been provided as a common-sense gesture. After losing a lot of time on the dolphins, the guide rushed the Jozani Forest, which was my favorite part of the day. He literally wanted to leave after a 5-minute walk around and I insisted on staying and we ended up seeing like 25 monkeys, including lots of little ones. But he continued to rush me the whole time. Then he brought me to some stupid walking path which I would have rather skipped and used that time with the monkeys. Thankfully he did honor bringing me to the reptile park, which I had requested in advance, and I had a much better tour guide there and the perfect amount of time to see everything. Kuza cave was scary, but cool. We got there at the end of the day, so there were only a couple other people inside so that part worked out at least. Stopped at Paje Beach and The Rock restaurant just for a photo op, which was fine. I recommend if you do this tour, skip the snorkeling/dolphin piece all together and spend your time enjoying the other stops. Or book with a different company that executes the day with better care for its clients.
