Embark on an exciting day trip from Taormina to explore Sicily’s renowned fiery volcano, the stunning Mount Etna. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mount Etna stands as Europe’s tallest active volcano, offering breathtaking views over Parco dell’Etna, the national park. Enjoy a 3-hour self-guided hike around the base station’s foothills (additional ticket required), or choose to upgrade (additional cost) for transportation to Mount Etna’s upper area, including a guided walking tour of the upper crater with a Mountain Guide. The main departure point is the Taormina Bus Terminal, with alternative pick-up locations available upon request by providing the full address. Please be aware that from May 5th to May 15th, 2026, the cable car at Rifugio Sapienza on Mount Etna’s south side will be under maintenance. During this period, ascents will be conducted on the North side at Piano Provenzana exclusively by jeep, with no cable car service available.

• The high-altitude ascents are not indicated for heart passengers, asthmatics and pregnant women.
• Please note that for your safety, all excursions to Etna do not reach the edge of the main craters and customers are always kept on a safety zone.
• The cost of the excursion to Etna, ascent inclusive, has a special price valid only with advance reservation. When buying the ascent on board, the cost will be higher.
