Standing at 1,829 meters above sea level, it is the largest of Malaysia’s hill resorts, with temperatures ranging from 16°C to 24°C. Its charm largely comes from the expansive tea plantations established in 1929, along with terraced flower farms, strawberry farms, and vegetable gardens.
Cameron Highlands is made up of a series of small towns, including Ringlet, Tanah Rata, Brinchang, Tringkap, Kuala Terla, and Kampung Raja. The total population is around 30,000, with most residents working in agriculture and the leisure industry. The finest tourist facilities are located in Tanah Rata, the highlands’ administrative center, though Brinchang is quickly developing with numerous hotels, serviced apartments, and restaurants.
