Healing, Heart, and Huachuma in the Sacred Valley - I’ve just experienced one of the most beautiful and powerful moments of my life in Peru.
Before I arrived in this sacred land, I had a strong sense that something — though I couldn’t name it — was waiting for me. Instead of trying to control it, I chose to surrender and allow the journey to unfold.
On my very first day in Cusco, I had the honor of meeting Maestro Básilio and the kind-hearted Juan during a shamanic energy cleansing ceremony at the Moon Temple. That ceremony was like a gentle reset — deeply refreshing and exactly what I needed to clear my energy before exploring such a sacred and ancient place. I stayed in touch with them afterward, feeling a quiet pull toward something deeper.
Originally, I had planned to attend a three-day Ayahuasca ceremony. But unexpectedly — and now I know, divinely — things shifted, and I canceled. What I hadn’t realized at the time was that it wasn’t Grandmother Ayahuasca who was calling me — it was Grandfather San Pedro, also known as Huachuma.
I reached out to Juan, who responded with so much kindness and warmth, helping me arrange a ceremony. That’s how I found myself in the Sacred Valley, welcomed into Juan’s peaceful home where he lives with his radiant wife, Melissa, and their sweet daughter, Zoa. From the moment I arrived, I felt deeply safe, embraced, and honored — as if I had found a family.
The ceremony began around 6 PM and lasted until nearly 3 in the morning. We were under the stars, surrounded by nature, love, and gentle guidance. Being in the presence of my newfound soul companions made the experience even more powerful. There were moments of silence, of laughter, of tears — and a deep sense of being held by Pachamama herself.
Now, as I return from this experience, I can feel that old traumas no longer have a hold on me. I have learned to trust, to be patient, and to listen to my inner compass — which now feels stronger and clearer than ever. I feel a deep calling to protect, honor, and give back to Pachamama, and my heart overflows with compassion for every living being.
This ceremony wasn’t just a moment — it was a turning point. I’m stepping into the next chapter of my life with joy, strength, and a sense of sacred remembrance.
Thank you, Juan, Maestro Básilio, Melissa, Zoa, Pachamama, and beloved Huachuma.
You helped me remember who I am.
With all my love,
Asli

A wonderful experience - Juan provides a welcoming, relaxed space in a beautiful forest garden setting. The wachuma ceremony by the fire gave me the sense of embarking on a sacred journey. The wachuma medicine itself is gentle and uplifting but also deep and powerful. I also did the Temazcal ceremony which we started around midnight. This is similar to a sauna, but with fire-heated stones and still feeling the effects of the wachuma, it was very intense but very cleansing too. Afterwards there was a hot shower, comfortable overnight accommodation, and a hearty, healthy breakfast the next morning. All in all a wonderful and memorable experience!

One of the best experiences I had in Cusco - I had such a beautiful and heartfelt San Pedro ceremony at Juan’s place. His home is surrounded by nature, with a peaceful backyard full of trees and the gentle sound of the river nearby—an ideal setting to feel grounded and connected.
From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease. I had read in a review that talking to Juan was like talking to a close friend all night, and that’s exactly how it felt. He holds space with so much warmth, presence, and kindness. I felt safe to open up, and the conversations we shared throughout the night were truly meaningful and healing.
Juan’s whole family is absolutely lovely. They welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. The next morning, his wonderful wife Meli prepared a delicious and generous breakfast, and I really enjoyed chatting with her too. Their sweet daughter brought so much joy and light to the space—it felt like being part of something truly special.
Juan has a deep love and respect for the plant medicine, and his guidance comes from a place of genuine care and experience. I’m so grateful for this experience and couldn’t recommend it more.
Thank you, Juan, for everything—you made me feel so welcome, and I left feeling like I had made new friends in Taray.

An unforgettable experience! - Wow! I attended a ceremony last night with Juan and I cannot explain the dream that was my experience. We spent the hours of the ceremony by the fire, chatting about life, the inner impulse that is love and much more. The place where the ceremony takes place is beautiful, with plants, magic trees, mountains. The energy of the site with the energy of John as the leader makes a beautiful ceremony full of transformation. Thanks brother to you and your nice family!! I'll be back a hundred percent!

San Pedro Ceremony - A Transformative Experience - My wife and I had an incredible experience at the San Pedro Wachuma ceremony in Taray. The setting in the Sacred Valley, surrounded by nature, was peaceful and perfect for deep introspection.
The ceremony itself was well-organized, with a large fire burning through the night, creating a safe and sacred space for reflection. We stayed awake with Juan from sunset to sunrise, and his presence was both calming and insightful. His wife and their beautiful daughter stayed inside but played an important role in the experience—she prepared a delicious and hearty breakfast, which was perfect after our fasting.
As part of the process, we both experienced purging, which is a natural and common effect of San Pedro. Despite this, the experience remained deeply transformative, helping us release and reflect on what no longer served us.
Overall, this was an authentic and profound ceremony, and we are grateful for the hospitality and wisdom shared. If you’re looking for a genuine San Pedro experience in Cusco, this is the perfect place.

Love to do it again! - My partner and I were a little nervous initially because we really had no idea what to expect. Upon sight of Juan, our nerves disappear. We immediately met his lovely wife and daughter. Juan was clearly proud of his beautiful family and wanted to share a piece of his life with us. We needed to wait a short time for the rain to let up before we could begin the ceremony and we shared a hot cup of tea and interesting conversation. We enjoyed a nice bonfire with Juan during which he provided us with some tools that may help to channel the negative energy that most of us live with and dwell on. We both noticed that occasionally Juan would leave the circle while we continued to talk. After a few minutes he would return with so more tools that was very specific to us. When I was ready to retire to our own room, my partner and I continued to have a very productive conversation into the wee hours. We woke to a fantastic breakfast prepared by his wife and lots of entertainment from his daughter feeding the cats! Very lucky little girl to grow up in such a beautiful and peaceful place! Many thanks to Juan for this wonderful experience!

Beautiful place, beautiful company, beautiful night - It's hard to put into words. It's exactly as advertised but so much more. San Pedro is gentle and patient, like Juan himself. The Sacred Valley is perfect and Juan is so heartful and soulful.
