Setting Sail from Jacó

The sun was just beginning to rise over Jacó as I found myself boarding a comfortable minibus, complete with WiFi and A/C, ready to embark on the Isla Tortuga Adventure. The early morning air was crisp, and the promise of a day filled with exploration and relaxation had me buzzing with excitement. Our small group, limited to just 22 people, was a refreshing change from the usual crowded tours. We made a stop at Negritos Island, where we were greeted by a playful family of spider monkeys. Their antics were a delight, and it was clear they were as curious about us as we were about them.

The Gulf of Nicoya offered more surprises, with dolphins playfully dancing alongside our boat. It was a mesmerizing sight, one that reminded me of the simple joys of life on the ocean. Snorkeling in the clear waters revealed a vibrant underwater world, teeming with colorful fish. Though the snorkeling gear could use an update, the experience was still magical, and I found myself lost in the beauty of the marine life.

Arriving at Isla Tortuga, we were greeted by pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. Renting umbrellas and recliners, we settled in for a day of pure relaxation. The island was a paradise, and the absence of large crowds made it feel like our own private escape. Lunch was a delightful affair, with fresh fruits and a delicious meal that satisfied both hunger and soul.

As the day wound down, we were treated to coffee and cookies, a perfect end to a perfect day. The return journey was filled with laughter and shared stories, a testament to the connections made during our adventure. Reflecting on the day, I realized that this tour was more than just a trip to Isla Tortuga; it was a celebration of nature, camaraderie, and the pure joy of exploration.
