Khan Palace - This palace complex, constructed in 1871, spans four acres with a foundation three meters thick. It features a high portal, a grand entrance arch, and four minarets. Enclosed by a carved stone wall, the palace includes seven courtyards and 119 rooms. The inscription above the main gate reads: “Great Seyed Mohammad Khudayar Khan.”
Jami Mosque - The most remarkable mosque in Kokand, built by Umar Khan in 1812, is centered around a 22-meter minaret and features a vibrant 100-meter-long aivan (portico) supported by 98 red-wood columns imported from India. The complex now serves as a museum of applied art, showcasing a collection of suzani and ceramics from the region. A small on-site workshop produces delicious pistachio-flavored halva.
Norbut-Biya Madrasah - Originally closed by the Bolsheviks in 1799, the Narbutabey Medressa reopened after independence but was closed again by Karimov in 2008. Visitors can explore the mosque, with its original ceiling, which Stalin reopened to gain wartime support from Muslim subjects, as well as the non-operational medressa, now called the Mir Medressa.
Kokand - Visit the vibrant Bazaar of Kokand.
Tashkent - In the afternoon, transfer to the Kokand train station for the return journey to Tashkent.
