After passing through New Norfolk, we delve into Mount Field National Park, walking among some of the world’s tallest trees, standing beneath the stunning Russell Falls, and searching for platypus.

Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park - The drive continues through the Tasmania Wilderness World Heritage Area, with a stop at Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. We then explore the intriguing historical mining town of Queenstown before reaching our destination near Cradle Mountain, ready for exploration the next day.

North West Tasmania to Hobart (via Cradle Mountain)

Cradle Mountain - After a brief drive through temperate rainforest, we arrive at the breathtaking Cradle Mountain National Park. Cameras should be ready as we spot wild wombats before hiking the popular Dove Lake Circuit or Marion’s Lookout for the more adventurous.

Dove Lake Circuit - Choose between hiking the Dove Lake Circuit or Marion’s Lookout. Dove Lake offers an easy 6km, 2-3 hour hike with stunning views of Cradle Mountain and temperate rainforest. For those seeking more adventure, Marion’s Lookout provides a challenging 3-hour hiking option.
