Great experience - Stumbled upon this whilst walking around town . I had no idea what it was but so pleased we went in . What a lovely way to spend 30 mins . I have now read some reviews and the guide does make some comments about the things he has seen , but these are all in jest and very PG , he is trying to have some fun , I would not describe them as lewd . He has a good knowledge of the area and it was great to hear about the history of some of the buildings.

Worth seeing - Anyone who has never experienced the Camera Obscura technique should visit. Everyday life live is projected directly onto the "table". The explanations were in English and quite humorous. You also get an overview of the city and the buildings explained. Like a little guided city tour. Entrance fee 5 euros is well spent. The whole thing is located in the old water tower

Something to begin with in Tavira - Perfect start of Tavira visit! Polish guide best in class! Entertaining for the kids and the adults! Very nice of the hosts, to sell water.

Worth a visit for something different - We enjoyed this. It gives a 20 minute live tour of Tavira in a completely different perspective. Our 'guide' was very knowledgeable, it wasn't expensive and you get some great photo opportunities going up and down the tower if you take the steps. Recommended.

"Periscope" tour of Tavira - The camera obscuras are very interesting attractions, although they are not very widespread. The writer has been to 4. It is in Tavira, although it is not a monumental city, it has its attraction and whoever shows it is a true showman.

A must do at the start of your holiday to get a tour of the city! - This was our first visit to a Camera Obscura. Such clarity in the real time images of the city of Tavira. I agree with a previous reviewer, in that it would have been interesting to hear a little of how the camera actually worked. My only criticism was our guide! He was creepy in some of the comments he was making and made our party of 4 people really quite uncomfortable. We all opted to take the stairs back down, and didn't go back in the lift with him!

Panoramic view of Tavira - Well worth a visit, interesting old lense technique, gives you a great panoramic view of the city and on top of that a knowledgeable guide.

Camera Obscura - See Tavira from a different perspective. - A very interesting, informative and different experience. We were guided around a live projection of Tavira by Clive. He was able to meld history with location across the city, he told us things we didn't know. Our visitors from abroad, our local friends and us, all found it amazing.

Disgruntled and out of pocket - I booked and paid online but when I got there there was a notice saying the Tower was closed for maintenance. Why dk they not take the booking option off the website if its closed. I tried to phone but no answer so I've emailed but no answer yet. If you go dont pay beforehand and check it's open.

ABSOLUTE THIMUS - We came from Cádiz to see the dark chamber of the Tavira tower that they have there and which is called the same as it is. We went up out of curiosity and because if we loved Cádiz, it should be the same or better. The camera is the same, but the explanation, the facilities, the views and the staff of this tower are TERRIBLE. They have set up this camera to imitate the one in Cádiz, but it cannot be compared. Don't go. You save €5 and the stupid look on your face.
