Abanotubani - Abanotubani, the Baths District, is one of Tbilisi’s oldest areas, located on the right bank of the Mtkvari River. The name derives from the ancient baths built on naturally hot mineral waters in old Tbilisi.

It symbolizes the renewal of Tbilisi and was officially opened on May 6, 2010. Michele de Luca, the architect, also designed the MIA building and the Presidential Palace, while Philippe Martino, the lighting designer, worked on the MIA building, the Presidential Palace, and the TV tower.

Metekhi Cathedral - The Metekhi Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is located in the historic Metekhi district on the left bank of the Mtkvari River in old Tbilisi. The main sanctuary houses the tomb of St. Shushanik. After the ecclesiastical split between Armenians and Georgians in the early 7th century, Catholicos Kyrion moved the saint’s remains from Tsurtavi to the Metekhi temple. Queen Tamar adorned the Blessed Queen’s body with gilded clothes and paid special homage to her.

Legvachtahvi Gorge - The Leghvtakhevi waterfall, located in Tbilisi’s ancient Abanotubani district, stands 22 meters tall. The name Leghvtakhevi comes from the Georgian word “Leghvi,” meaning fig, due to the abundance of fig trees in the area. The ancient district Kala was separated from the main city by the Leghvtakhevi gorge.

Narikala Fortress - Narikala Fortress is a must-visit attraction in Tbilisi, captivating tourists with its stunning nighttime views. Visible from almost every part of Tbilisi, it overlooks the Mtkvari River, enhancing its allure. Narikala consists of two walled sections between the sulphur baths and the Tbilisi Botanical Garden.

Rustaveli Avenue - Formerly Golovin Street, Rustaveli Avenue is Tbilisi’s central avenue, named after medieval Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli. It begins at Freedom Square and stretches approximately 1.5 km.

Liberty Square - Freedom Square, previously known as Erivansky or Paskevich-Erivansky Square under Imperial Russia and Beria Square and Lenin Square during the Soviet era, is located in central Tbilisi at the eastern end of Rustaveli Avenue.

Shardeni Street - Shardeni Street, a small pedestrian street in Tbilisi’s Upper Kala district, lies between Vakhtang Gorgasali square and Sioni Street. It has long been a cultural and social hub in Tbilisi, featuring art galleries, enamel salons, handmade items, bars, and restaurants. It remains one of Tbilisi’s most popular, vibrant, and attractive spots.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest cities, was founded by ancient Meschian tribes in the 5th century. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, it holds historical significance and numerous cultural monuments. Mtskheta served as the capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD and remained the coronation and burial site for most Georgian kings until the 19th century. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the second-largest church in Georgia, is known as the burial site of Christ’s robe and is a principal Georgian Orthodox church and a revered place of worship.

Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - The Friendship Monument, built in 1983, celebrates the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. Located on the Georgian Military Highway between Gudauri ski resort and the Jvari Pass, the monument is a large round stone arch and concrete structure overlooking the Devil’s Valley in the Caucasus mountains. Gergeti Trinity Church - Gergeti Trinity Church, near Gergeti village, is located on the right bank of the Chkheri river under Kazbegi Mountain, 2170 meters above sea level. Built in the 14th century, it is the only cross-cupola church in the Khevi province. In times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino’s Cross, were brought here for safekeeping. During the Soviet Era, religious services were prohibited, but the church remained a popular tourist destination. It is an active establishment of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church. The church offers an epic panoramic view of the valley, and its isolation in the steep mountainous area makes it Georgia’s most iconic tourist attraction. The view of Mount Kazbegi, at 5047 meters above sea level, is breathtaking.
