- Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble - Dating back to the 16th-18th centuries, the Ananuri fortress is located on a promontory by the Aragvi River. It served as a castle and the seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty that governed the region from the 13th century. The castle witnessed numerous battles and is an ideal spot for landscape photography, offering breathtaking views of both the fortress and Jinvali reservoir. The fortress was in use until the early 19th century and has been on UNESCO’s tentative list for World Heritage Site inclusion since 2007.
- Pasanauri - The White Aragvi and Black Aragvi rivers, each with distinct colors, flow side by side without mixing, creating a striking black-and-white stream. This unique natural phenomenon draws many tourists to eastern Georgia.
- Kvemo Mleta - Enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant.
- Gudauri - Visit the Gudauri viewpoint for photography and a tasting of Chacha and honey.
- Gergeti Trinity Church - Commonly known as the Holy Trinity Church near Gergeti village, it is located on the right bank of the Chkheri River beneath Kazbegi Mountain, at an elevation of 2,170 meters. Built in the 14th century, it is the only cross-cupola church in the Khevi province. During times of danger, valuable relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino’s Cross, were safeguarded here. Although religious services were banned during the Soviet Era, the church remained a popular tourist site. It is an active establishment of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church, offering an epic panoramic view of the entire valley. The church’s remote location in a steep, mountainous area rich in natural beauty makes it one of Georgia’s most iconic tourist attractions. Visitors will be captivated by the view of Mount Kazbegi, which stands at 5,047 meters above sea level.
