Amazing experience - We certainly were not sure what to expect, we thought maybe some sort of vessel that stays on the surface with windows under the surface. How wrong we were! It is a real submarine. We were picked up from Los Gigantes in a comfortable, air conditioned coach and transported to Amarilla marina, about 45 minutes away. On arrival at the marina we were shown where the toilets were (no toilet on sub) then we boarded the submarine, you have to go down a ladder but it isn't difficult. Inside it is surprisingly spacious, not claustrophobic at all and airconditioned . Everyone has a seat in front of a very big window. The crew were exceptionally friendly and helpful, you can see the control deck, there are two captains for safety. Commentary is supplied by headphones in a multitude of languages. We soon set off and didn't have to go far before we submersed. The sea life was amazing as we gently dropped to the seabed 30 metres under the surface. Once settled on the seabed you can stand up and move around, although we didn't feel the need to. While on the seabed scuba divers attract the fish outside the submarine, we thought the most spectacular part of this were the huge Stingrays that are fascinated by the divers air bubbles. All too soon it was time to surface and head back to the marina. When you have disembarked you receive a certificate to say you have been on the sub and have the opportunity to purchase photographs. We thoroughly enjoyed it, so much that we booked to go again the following week and we've already decided we will do it again when we return next year.

We All Live in a Yellow Submarine - This is a fun trip. If you've never been in a submarine, this is a great opportunity. It's a very comfortable, narrated ride explaining the various sea life around Tenerife. Easily worth the price.
