The kayaking adventure unfolds in one of the most stunning sections of the Vjosa River, renowned as the last wild river in Europe. The journey begins at Kelcyra’s Gorge in southern Albania, sculpted by the Vjosa River, close to the town of Kelcyre. This gorge offers breathtaking and serene vistas. During the excursion, participants will marvel at the “Blue Eye,” a water spring and natural wonder located near the village of Muzine Finiq.
Paddlers will navigate through the canyon and past waterfalls for approximately two and a half hours until reaching the village of Peshtan. The meeting point is at Restaurant Salmoni, where vehicles can be parked, and a shuttle will transport participants to the starting point at Kelcyra Gorge.
For the adventure, it is essential to wear neoprene suits, thermal sweatshirts, life jackets, and helmets. This entire experience promises a unique sensation, with adrenaline coursing through as participants tackle the Vjosa rapids, the magnificent canyons of Kelcyra, the waterfalls, and the “Blue Eye” encounter.
