Discover the deliciousness of tequila - First of all, I appreciate the transfer from the hotel. Before we get to the village of Tequila, we will visit a couple of breweries and learn how to make and drink tequila. It was a new discovery that maturity made the palate soft. After arriving in Tequila Village, you can have lunch, walk around town, and shop. Don’t forget to take a photo as the city is just so merry and convivial. On the way back we took a restroom break and went back to the hotel. It was such a fun tour!

Jalisco's Tequila Treasure - We had 11 people on our Tequila Tour and an adept friendly bilingual guide, Jhonatan. The tour lasted almost 8 hours. We learned a lot about tequila and the complex process of making it at two distilleries. We traveled through fields of blue agave in the comfort of an air-conditioned van, Jhonatan even served us drinks from the ice chest. We had lunch in Amitan, the birthplace of tequila, and spent some time in Tequila, home to a variety of distilleries. It was an intimate firsthand look into the art of tequila making. Highly recommended.

Fun all day tequila tour! - Great Tequila Tour Day Trip From Guadalajara. Be prepared for lots of tequila and fantastic views of agave fields. We Booked this excursion through Trip Advisor, which worked fine. The tour company is GDL Adventure. Clean, comfortable 15 person vans. Professional and fun driver (Charly) contacted us the morning of the tour via WhatsApp to arrange pickup from our hotel, which was not on their list of regular stops but they picked us up with no issue. Pickup was around 10:00am. First stop was Don Valente Tequila distillery, a small batch producer. Five pesos for entry, which gets you a shot glass for the free tastings and a tour of their very small factory. Second Stop was at nearby Don Elias, a much larger operation, they export around the world. Feels a lot like a Napa winery tour. Prices at both are better than in the US. Third Stop, lunch at Los Alzados on the way to the town of Tequila. Great food, very reasonable prices. We had Carne Asada Shrimp Tacos, a beer and a coke for about $23 US dollars. Fourth stop (for about an hour) at a photo op roadside bar with a Mariachi band and a bar that serves a traditional Mexican drink called Cantarito, which is tequila (of course) a few different citrus juices, grapefruit soda pop served in a clay pot. This bar is right next to an agave field with the Tequila volcano in the distance. The last stop was the town of Tequila, which is mostly a tourist trap. The main attraction is the Jose Cuervo distillery. The main town square is full of drink shops, souvenir shops, tour guides, and tour busses in the shapes of chili peppers, barrels, and tequila bottles. If the church is open, it’s worth a look inside. Some reviews have said the time in Tequila isn’t long enough. We were there for an hour and a half which was more than enough for us. The drive back to Guadalajara was about an hour, we were back at our hotel around 7:00pm. Overall a fun way to spend the day. The tour company was great, highly recommend.

Great Tequila Guide - Greñas was a great guide, he made any effort to keep the party going. The two tequilerias included had awesome tequilas, although Don Cayo’s sample cup is very very tiny. The stop at the agave field could have been better.

Not bad - This was my second tour in Guadalajara, and I liked it less than the Lake Chapala tour. Nevertheless, I don't regret going. I don't drink alcohol, at least not on the scale that they drink it in the city of Tequila. We visited two factories. Overall, nothing special - tequila is tequila. Then we stopped at a place, at a plantation where tequila agave is grown. For a whole hour, people were drinking alcohol, and then we went to the city itself. The city is very crowded, everything revolves around alcohol. It was very difficult for me to find a coffee shop just to buy coffee. Around the city, there are buses shaped like tequila barrels, with music playing and drunk people singing. Alcohol is everywhere, crowds of people everywhere, and it's sold in four-liter containers, quite cheap. I can assume that people get poisoned and lost there. For example, in our tour, we lost one person. We waited for him for a long time and never figured out where he was, we had to leave. I hope he's okay. Therefore, I recommend exchanging phone numbers in case you get drunk and your bus leaves without you.
