Prior to the commencement of classes, Jungle Kitchen will reach out to inquire about any dietary restrictions and favorite dishes participants might want to suggest. Based on this information, Jungle Kitchen crafts a menu that accommodates all participants.

Typically, the cooking session includes:

• A soup or salad
• A Thai curry made from scratch
• A noodle or stir-fry dish

The class begins with a briefing and a welcome drink, followed by a tour of the stunning organic gardens to explore the diverse range of plants and gather some ingredients.

Dishes are prepared on our 8-meter-long handmade table, where herbs are chopped and pastes are ground by hand, filling the kitchen with delightful aromas. After a short break, cooking resumes over charcoal, culminating in a dinner in the gardens before heading home. Recipes will be shared shortly thereafter.

Cooking is done using only traditional tools and techniques. Participants will learn to prepare three dishes and then enjoy their creations in the gardens, which offer panoramic views over Koh Phangan and occasional sounds from the nearby elephant sanctuary. Classes typically conclude shortly after 9 pm.

• Traditional Thai Curry - fresh ingredients are ground to make the paste - Panaeng or green curry are the most popular and use many ingredients from our gardens. We do however have a wider recipe range for the adventurous.
• Noodle or stir fry dish - Pad Thai, pad see ew or drunken noodles are just a few of the noodle dishes.
  Guests compliment us for recipes like tamarind fish or pad cha stir fry.
• Thai soup or Thai salad - We cover a wide range of soup and salad recipes including all the favourites.

Jungle Kitchen cooking classes transport participants to an era where meals were crafted using handmade tools and traditional techniques.

Located just minutes from Fishermans Village, the school offers a serene escape from the bustling coastal streets.

Participants cook at an 8-meter-long cooking station, surrounded by the sounds of nature and breathtaking views of Koh Phangan. The class is dedicated to preserving the knowledge of traditional cooking methods, utilizing the same tools and techniques that were prevalent in Thai kitchens over 50 years ago.

The class concludes with a delightful dinner in the gardens, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a dinner party.
