The sanctuary takes great pride in being an ethical haven for elephants. The elephants here have been rescued from unethical parks and attractions where they were subjected to chaining, caging, and riding. At this sanctuary, elephants receive the love and care they deserve, fostering peaceful and respectful interactions between humans and animals. The elephants are free to roam the park, as the sanctuary is firmly opposed to the use of cages, chains, and elephant riding. Owned and operated by the Karen Hill Tribe, the sanctuary’s Karen guides and Mahouts (elephant keepers) offer valuable insights into the park, the elephants, and the local history.
