Book with this company at your own risk! - I would not recommend this “tour” operator. I’m a women from USA and wanted to visit the national park while I was visiting Bangkok. My 2 friends traveling with me did not want to go so I got on Viator to book a tour to Khao Yai National Park. I ended up booking a tour with a company called Milkyway tours. I paid around 200 usd for it which is around 6200 thai baut. There is an itinerary number 1-5. At point number 1 it says that I would have an English speaking driver-guide and that the cost of Khao Yai national park is included in the tour cost. The driver showed up to pick me up on time. He was friendly and kind but did not know what was going on. He kept asking me what the itinerary was and asked me to show him what Milkyway itinerary stated so he would know what to do(the listing said English speaking, while he did speak some English it was very hard to communicate as he couldn’t understand a lot of what I said and I couldn’t understand most of what he said). The tour company obviously didn’t communicate to him what he was supposed to do today. I guess they just gave him an address and he showed up there. I also quickly realized that this was not a guided tour even though the first point in the itinerary stated it would be a driver guide(I took screenshots of the listing). As a woman I don’t feel comfortable hiking around even in my home country and definitely did not feel comfortable hiking alone in a foreign country that I don’t know anything about and that I don’t know what animals are in the jungle and what to look out for as well as different species of poisonous snakes or spiders to look out for. If I had know I t was a completely unguided tour I would have never booked that tour. The listing was not clear. I reached out to the tour operator and told him that the driver did not know what the itinerary was. He responded back once and said that he had updated the driver on the itinerary but even after that the driver kept asking me about the itinerary. Also in the initial response the tour operator took a screenshot of the listing that said that a guide is not included. I responded back and took screenshots of the listing where is said I would have a driver-guide and also a spot in the itinerary where it says that the Khao Yai admission fee was included. After I sent all the screenshots proving what the listing said the tour operator stopped responding to me. The listing had conflicting statements. Anyway I was already in the car and on the way to the National Park. It was too late to cancel. So I ended up having to hike alone in a foreign jungle by myself with no preparation on what things to look out for or to be careful of in the jungle. As well as having to pay the admission fee for myself I had to pay the admission fee for the driver as well. That was not listed on the listing either. The admission fees for the driver and I totaled 470 baut. So total I paid around 6676 thai baut for someone to drive to drive me from Bangkok to Khao Yai to wander around in a foreign jungle alone. When I initially searched for a tour this one said it’s great for solo travelers and it’s definitely not great for women traveling along. If I had know this “tour” was a driver only and no guide I could have either booked a grab driver to Khao Yai park or booked a guided tour with a different company. The listing is very confusing and misleading. There is a place that says the get a driver-guide and that admission is free included in the tour and somewhere else it says it is not. Overall it was a horrible experience as a women alone in a foreign national park. There were also little knats or mosquitos flying around in the car. There was no reason for this trip to be expensive as it was because it was unguided, little flying bugs in the car, it was not a luxury car or anything. It was just a 6676 thai baut taxi drive. I do not fault the driver at all as he was nice but he did not now what was going on with the itinerary that was listed. It was so awkward and uncomfortable. I got dropped off a little after 5:30 pm. I was so exhausted, sweaty, and tired that I couldn’t wait to get out of the car. I hopped in the shower and after I got out there was about 7 missed calls from the driver and about 6 voice texts. He or the tour company was trying to scam me even further. He said that his boss said he went over the time limit that I had to pay more money and that if I didn’t he would have to pay it out of his own money. The tour itinerary said 2 hours at each of the 5 itinerary points plus the travel time. There was no mention of having to pay extra for any reason. Either the driver, the owner or both were trying to scam me even more. I contacted the tour company and forwarded all the messages the driver left me. He apologized and said that he told his driver to stop contacting me. He did not offer to refund any of the 200 usd her charged me. He saw that I canceled the other tour and tried to encourage me to rebook it…..which I would absolutely not do! I reported my experience to the hotel and they alerted security as I was afraid to go outside because the driver was hanging around. It should be stated clearly in the listing that this trip is only them picking you up and driving you to the park. It’s not guided at all with no information on the various animals that live there. I had also scheduled a beach day that was a few days out but after this horrible experience I canceled it. I would not recommend the tour company. I would also like a partial refund as there was conflicting and misleading information in the listing. It was a horrible experience through and through. Please stay away from this company. I will happily share all my receipts, texts, and voice notes from the company. It was a horrible experience to have my first time visiting Thailand. They also go by the Milkyway tours name.
