Beauty & History - What a great way to see some of Northern Greece! A driver, Sebastian, picked us up directly at six in the Mercedes taxi. We were able to stop for coffee and breakfast on our way to see the monasteries. We made it there before any of the tour buses to see the area with less people. My husband really enjoyed seeing the battle site between the Spartans and the Persians. I never thought I would get to see Delphi in my lifetime, but this was also a special place. It had a museum and an archaeological site and was not overrun with tourists. It made exploring the archaeological site more enjoyable. Our driver was there to wait on us the whole time. He was very knowledgeable and gave us history of all the areas we visited. afterwards, we were hosted for dinner and drinks before being returned to our front door. if you take this Tori, you’ll get a whole days worth of history, fun, and adventure.

See it all! - We had a great day trip with Cristiano. It’s a long day but it’s great to squeeze in all the sites in a single day. Christiano made it easy as he handled all the hard parts. We appreciated the good conversation and some great historical stories. Easy to recommend if you’re pressed for time and want to do it all.

Best tour for one day - It was an amazing experience we had. The weather was not in our favor but our guide Ozzy made sure we don’t get overwhelmed by it. He shared lots of historical stories about Delphi and meteora. He did everything he can do to make sure we get the best views and experience. God bless him and his family. To those who are planning to book this trip, please ask for ozzy to be your driver and guide.

Day tour to Delphi - What a great experience! At first, I thought it would be long and tedious, but it ended up being a pace that was tolerable and manageable. Our driver was very articulate and courteous. We saw the landscapes and sights which we will never forget. I would highly recommend!

Delphi and Meteora Combo Trip 1-Day - This was a long, but great tour and experience. We did not want to split Delphi and Meteora over 2-3 days, preferring to find this option to do both in one day. Communication was fantastic with our driver who picked us up promptly at our apartment at 6a and dropped us back off at 8p. He was knowledgeable, friendly and humorous. We were able to stop periodically for pastry and coffee or just a break as needed. The sites we visited really are amazing. Even though it was rainy and misty at Meteora when we visited, it simply added to the mystique and beauty of these structures that seem to levitate high above the surrounding villages and farms. Highly worth it, and much more pleasant when done this way in a private car. Dinner at the end was a perfect way to cap the trip.

Amazing! A Must-Do Activity While in Athens - Wow! Saying that this excursion was “amazingly” doesn’t do it justice. It was an absolute highlight and felt very special. Our driver (and very knowledgeable guide!), Marselo, was one of the kindest people we’d met on our trip and he was very attentive. Always checking to see if we needed water, if we needed to stop off for a snack, etc. … which was much appreciated given how much driving this experience involves. The stops - Meteora and Delpi - felt so “otherworldly” in the best way. The sheer scale and architectural magnificence of Meteora was matched by the antiquity and sacredness of Delphi. Arachova wad excellent and, although it is still being built up, the monument / commemoration of Thermopylae was cool. Capping things off with authentic Greek salad, tzatziki, and moussaka was an excellent way to close out the day. If you are debating taking this trip and whether it is worth the money, debate no further. Book it and start getting excited and prepare to have your breath taken away.

Amazing Adventure - We were picked up promptly and got to a coffee shop quickly. It was much needed leaving at 6:00 am. Seeing the countryside and the mountains was such a surprise to me. We loved seeing all the monasteries in Meteora. They are just like you see in the pictures. Ozzy gave us several stories about so much history. He is very knowledgeable. He took us to a place to grab a bite to eat on the road. The battlefield was interesting and Delphi was a great finish of another Ancient Greece temple and ruins. This museum was a great display. Dinner was good too. We highly recommend this tour!

You best choice for high-quality day trips out of Athens - Mike (anglicized, but a local Greek guide) was an absolutely wonderful guide. He was punctual, attentive to individual needs, excellent English skills, highly informative. And: especially kudos to his stamina, he criss-crossed the Greek mainland with us, sometimes on curvy (but also beautiful) mountain roads within a day, showing the true highlights and amazing hidden spots off the beaten track. We could not have asked for a better, and most importantly, more authentic guide with local knowledge to show us the Greek heartland. Any reader should note: you won’t find the amazing combination of Meteoras and Delphi anywhere else. If you want to the see the very best of what you can do within a day trip starting out of Athens (if you are into real Greek culture, history and gorgeous vistas, not just on the beach), then Mike is definitely your man. We would recommend him to any traveler as your best bet for a tour guide out of Athens, regardless of your specific choice of destination. 5 Stars through and through !!!

Good but some advice - So to start with the good - Meteora and Delphi were spectacular. The food at dinner was fine. Our driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. However, our guide could use some feedback for improvement in the professionalism department. So some advice. First, be on time for pick up and if you are going to be late, call. We were supposed to be picked up at 6:00 but heard nothing from the driver (we called the drivers number several times with no answer) until he called at 6:30 and finally showed up at 6:45. Second, tread carefully when discussing religion and politics - things can get heated quickly. Third, be aware of your clients comfort - the drivers seat was pushed all the way back crunching the person in back behind him. Fourth, please don’t make jokes about your clients’ age, weight, appearance. That’s not a good way to earn tips. Finally, please be aware of the comfort of your passengers when driving - driving 150+ km/hr can make some passengers uncomfortable. Overall a good trip but some feedback was required here.
