Wonderful visit - We were on a small group tour to Vergina and Veria. We had an excellent guide, Panos who set everything in a wide historical context. The weather was wet but the excellent museums made the trip very worthwhile.

Great tour! - Great tour! Panos was extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, and flexible to the group. My group was very small, which gave the entire tour a much more intimate and personal feel. I loved the exploration of Veria (Berea from the New Testament), especially the area commemorating the Apostle Paul's visit. Highly recommended!

The visit to the royal tombs at Virginia is a must do! - Wow! What a wonderful tour! The visit to the royal tombs was the absolute highlight of our holiday in Greece. Our guide, Dimitra, was a delight and a wealth of knowledge. I warned that we intend to return to Thessaloniki to join her on another of her guided tours. This is a must do tour for any visitors to Thessaloniki.

Maria was an amazing... - Maria was an amazing guide. Extremely knowledgeable. During the bus trip to Veria she gave us a a comprehensive background Macedonian history and then guided us through the two incredible museums in Vergina. Although it was not scheduled in the program she also took us to see the synagogue in the old Jewish quarter of Veria.

Excellent tour - Very well-guided tour. The English level was great and you could understand the tour guide very well. It was also very well organized and you never had the feeling of being just a tourist. My personal favorite is that the tour guide has a lot of knowledge and understanding of what she is saying and, above all, is able to get it across. The price-performance ratio was outstandingly good.

The first thing my guide,... - The first thing my guide, Sophia, asked me was if I were Chinese or Japanese (I’m East Asian and I’m neither.) I can understand this line of questioning may seem harmless and I don’t usually mind, but I didn’t expect to hear that from a tour guide. Then soon after we had arrived in Veria, she ranted about how Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (well, Constantinople in her words) has been converted to a mosque recently, and then later about how Constantinople used to be a Greek land and perhaps it can be reverted back to Greece someday. She wasn’t joking. Now, I don’t have any personal opinions on these topics, and she’s certainly free to have whatever opinions she wants to have. But I was appalled that a tour guide was making such charged political/religious statements in a group tour. I’m really curious if she would’ve said the same if our group included someone from Turkey. She appeared curt and rude to me from time to time, and I kept thinking she just appeared so simply because she was not a native English speaker.. (I’m not either) When the tour ended, the van stopped at a dropping point which was about a mile away from where I had been picked up early in the morning. One guy picked up in the morning there got off. But Sophia was looking at me expectantly standing by the van door, and surprised, I asked her if we were all getting off there. And she said yes, so I did. (as far as I know, no one after me got off) But I know this is not the case as I happened to join a different tour the next day (mt. Athos cruise which was great) provided by the same tour company and I was picked up/dropped off at the same spot for that tour. The only conclusion I can make is that she simply wanted to get rid of me. In conclusion, the tour guide was often unprofessional and condescending if not downright racist. I’ve traveled to nearly 40 countries and joined many many different guided tours, and this was one of the very few tours that have left truly bitter taste in my mouth. The tour itself is a little expensive for what it is, but it does what it says it does, and I understand it’s not particularly a popular tour, so I can understand the pricing. But it needed a better tour guide.
