Mount Athos - The journey begins with a guide as the group departs from the Thermaic Gulf, passing the internationally important wetlands of Koronia and Volvi. Traveling east, the route takes a scenic path through the Castle of Rentina. Soon, the Strymonian Gulf is reached, and after passing the tourist village of Stavros, the Halkidiki region is entered. Heading south, the journey follows the stunning coastline of northeast Halkidiki, offering views of Kapros Island.
The first stop is the Acropolis of Ancient Stagira, the birthplace of the famous philosopher Aristotle, who was the teacher of Alexander the Great. After a guided tour, the journey continues to the small port of Ouranoupolis. From there, the group sets sail toward the southern tip of the Athos Peninsula, where Mount Athos reaches its highest peak at 2,033 meters. Sailing north along the western coast provides a close view of this sacred area, which has been a center of Orthodox monastic life for centuries. Upon returning to port, there is free time to relax with lunch or enjoy a swim in Ouranoupolis, while admiring the breathtaking views of the Singitic Gulf, Athos, and Sithonia Peninsulas.
