Thimphu - Upon arrival at Paro airport, meet the representative and Bhutanese guide, then proceed to Paro for lunch. Afterward, drive to Thimphu and begin the sightseeing tour. Visit the Buddha Terrace for a breathtaking view of the valley, then head to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Enjoy a majestic view of Tashichoe Dzong, the seat of government, and explore the National Memorial Chorten, a monument honoring Bhutan’s third king, H.M Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Later, visit the Centenary Farmers Market, the new authentic craft bazaar, the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, which still provides traditional herbal medicines to locals, and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the evening, drive to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Thimphu – Punakha (1,320m) – Thimphu

Dochula Pass - After breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3140m) and enjoy the stunning Himalayan panorama of the eastern mountains. En route, take a short hike to Chimmi Lhakhang, located atop a hill amid rice fields. The lhakhang is 10 kilometers from Punakha, near a village called Sopsokha. A 20-minute walk along a muddy and dusty path through mustard and rice fields leads to a hillock where the monastery and chorten are situated. Chimmi Lhakhang is dedicated to Drukpa Kunley and is also known as the fertility temple. Afterward, drive to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful dzongs. Later, return to Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel.

Thimphu – Paro and Hike to Taktsang Monastery (3120m)

Paro Taktsang - Early in the morning, drive from Thimphu to the base camp of Taktsang and begin the hike to the Tiger’s Nest. The hike takes about 2 hours to reach the cafeteria, which offers a spectacular view of the monastery. Continue hiking to Taktsang Monastery and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Paro Valley. The monastery is surrounded by majestic mountains and lush green valleys. Its architectural design reflects the finest of Buddhist traditions and arts. The monastery is a white building with a golden roof and features four main temples and several dwellings. Later, hike back to the road point, then drive to Kyichi Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred shrines. Visit Rinpung Dzong, built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646, and then drive to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
