Thimphu - You’ll be received by our guide and the driver and then visit the National Museum of Bhutan to get insights into the history and culture of Bhutan. Opens at 9:00 am and is closed on public holidays.

We then drive to the capital city Thimphu, home to approximately 115,000 residents and the centre of commerce, religion and government in the country. On arrival in Thimphu, you’ll visit Buddha Dordhenma Statue located on the hilltop overlooking the Thimphu valley; National Institute of Zorig Chusum where the 13 Traditional Arts & Crafts of Bhutan are taught. Located nearby is the National Library & Archives, a national treasure and fundamental source of Bhutanese history, religion, medicine, arts & culture. Opens during weekdays and on Saturdays 10 am - 12 pm.

Journey from Bumthang to the easternmost part of Bhutan, traversing through untouched mountains. The unspoiled ecosystems, along with the rich cultural experiences, make this trek a must for anyone visiting Bhutan.

This route was historically a significant trade path but has become less used with the development of modern roads in Bhutan. It is now primarily a hiking trail, frequently used by cow herders, especially from Lhuentse in eastern Bhutan, where a day will be spent resting and sightseeing (Day 10).

Although the Rodung La Trek does not reach very high altitudes, it remains quite challenging due to the steep climbs and descents. The trail leads from Bumthang in Central Bhutan to Trashiyangtse in the far eastern part of the kingdom.

• A minimum of 3 participants are required to run this tour and can be run on a private basis.
• We highly recommend booking at least a few months before the departure date so that we have enough time to ensure the flights are available. If you already have flight tickets to and from Bhutan, we can take bookings up to two weeks before the departure date. To process visa, it only takes 4-5 business days.
• There are only two airlines that connect Bhutan with the outside world and so securing air tickets can be difficult especially during the months of high season. Currently, Bhutan is connected with these cities - Bagdogra, Bangkok, Delhi, Dhaka, Guwahati, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Singapore. We recommend you to book your international flights few months in advance especially if you plan to visit during the high season months of March to May and September to November. If you need help in arranging flights to/from Bhutan, please let us know much in advance.
• After you book the tour, kindly send us clear copies of passports and passport-size photos of all the participants. A biodata page including the machine-readable zone must be seen clearly. Passports should have a minimum of 6 MONTHS validity from the day you depart from Bhutan. You may also want to check the passport requirements by your next destination country after Bhutan. A copy of your e-Visa will be emailed to you once it is approved. It only takes 4-5 business days to get visa approval and it is 100 percent guaranteed as long as we receive clear passport copies of all the participants. The actual visa will be stamped on your passport upon arrival. Send the passport copies to the Local Supplier E-mail address.
