Fantastic experience!! - So, I booked this experience through Trip Advisor & was very excited about it! The drive to the cheesery from the port in Ios was about 20-30 minutes. We rented a car, but there was a couple that drove an ATV up there too. That said, I don't think a cab to it would be cost effective. Once we were there, the setting was absolutely beautiful! Walking in, they made us feel right at home. We were about 20 min early, but they took us in right away. Just as a heads up, English is another language option, even if it was not included on the website to book. Helen was amazing!! She was incredibly patient, very knowledgeable, and just a delight. The tour was relatively quick, but gives you good history and a background of the area. Now, we went into the tasting. OMG, their cheese was unbelievably delicious! They gave about 8 different cheeses, along with corresponding jam/honey to taste it with. It was all delicious. I'd say come hungry, because it was like a large charcuterie board shares between two people. The wine was absolutely fine as well. The surprise was the rose raki as a digestif after we finished. So good! I would absolutely recommend this as an excursion if you are in Ios!!!

Wonderful trip to a cheese factory with added jewels. - This was a lovely experience. To be shown how the islanders had lived in the past was very interesting. Seeing how they are struggling on the island now and how they are managing the severe drought that they are having is making me so climate aware. I come from a cool and damp climate and felt very informed about how they are surviving the struggles of climate change on the island. We then had a most wonderful experience of tasting the cheeses, jams, marmalades, wine and all the other lovely things that they have managed to produce on this difficult land. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend d a visit to this farm to enjoy the informative tour and the delicious food that they prepare.

Must do in Ios - This was an absolutely amazing experience! You get to enjoy a delicious meal in a beautiful location. The cheese was delicious (you get a very generous portion) as well as the wine, and the hosts are so sweet and welcoming! I definitely recommend this experience, you will not be disappointed.

The best experience in Ios - Absolutely lovely owners and experience. By far the best part of the island and some of the most delicious food. Never have I experienced such care from hosts and I will most certainly recommend it to everyone coming here. Even if you don’t like cheese, the hospitality is reason enough to go.

Wonderful Tour for the first tourists of the Season :) - My boyfriend and I went to Ios a few weeks ago and were surprised to realize we were the first tourists of the season lol. We were told the Cheesery was not yet open for the season which was a disappointment. We decided to rent a car and tour the island, on our travels we came across the cheesery and the gates were open so we took a chance. Helena greeted us on the grounds and said they were still closed but shed be happy to show us around and still make us a tasting. It was AMAZING, Helena was so sweet and knowledgable. She introduced us to her husband Demitri who was a generational cheese maker and took us through the process and relics from when his grandfather was a cheesemaker there as well. In the end she made us a beautiful and plentiful Smörgåsbord of delicious cheeses and treats. All in all, a absolutely great experience which she did not even have to give us in the first place. Would 100 percent recommend and would absolutely love to go back. Thank you Helena!!!
