Elbasan - In Elbasan, explore the Castle of Elbasan, a significant site from Roman times offering views of Via Egnatia, the ancient route connecting Rome and Constantinople. Within the fortress, visit Saint Mary’s Church and the King Mosque. After sightseeing, enjoy some free time within the castle.
Pogradec - Upon reaching Pogradec, take in the beauty of Lake Ohrid, a prominent feature of this quaint town. This ancient tectonic lake is one of Europe’s oldest and deepest, shared by Albania and North Macedonia. While the Macedonian side, centered around the charming town of Ohrid, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Albanian side remains less touristy, offering a peaceful retreat. Despite Pogradec’s modest appearance and some litter along the lakeshore, it provides a unique adventure and a tranquil lakeside stroll away from the crowds.
Enver Hoxha Pyramid - Constructed in 1988 as a museum for communist leader Enver Hoxha, the Pyramid of Tirana was designed in part by his daughter. After the fall of communism in 1991, it ceased to be a museum and served various purposes, including a conference center, NATO base during the Kosovo War, and later a TV station. Although it fell into disrepair, it was eventually renovated into a youth, technology, and cultural center, symbolizing Albania’s transition from dictatorship to a new era. During our tour, we’ll stop for a 10-minute explanation.
Blloku - Blloku is a trendy area in Tirana, Albania, renowned for its entertainment options, including boutiques, shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, and cafes. Located in the Tirana e Re neighborhood in southwestern Tirana, its bars migrate to the Albanian Riviera during peak summer months. After communism’s fall, Blloku became popular, having been a restricted area for the Albanian politburo. Visitors can still find the residence of Albania’s communist leader Enver Hoxha. Spend your free time here for lunch or coffee.
National Gallery of Art - This beautiful space traces the brief history of Albanian painting from the early 19th century to today and hosts temporary exhibitions. The collection includes 19th-century paintings depicting Albanian daily life and politically themed works, featuring excellent examples of Albanian socialist realism. The gallery’s entrance isn’t always open, so if exhibitions are available during your visit, you can explore inside.
Lake Ohrid - Some cities possess undeniable charm. From the first steps, the fresh air, the scent of nearby water, and the stunning views inspire poetry. Pogradec, the city of artists on Lake Ohrid’s shores, is one such place. It’s perfect for romantics seeking nature’s peace and tranquility. You’ll spend the night near this lake in Pogradec.
Korca – Voskopoja - Permet
Voskopoje - Voskopoja is where nature and history converge, making it a favored tourist destination. Known as a cultural hub since 1330, the town once boasted over 24 churches. It housed the first printing press outside Istanbul and other key institutions like the New Academy. Sadly, many buildings were destroyed by fire, war, robbery, and earthquakes. Visit Saint Athanase, Saint Ilie, and Saint Marie churches. Light hiking in the forest is possible.
Korce - Arrive in Korca for a tour of its key sites, including the Cathedral, Ottoman Bazaar, Andon Zako Cajupi Theatre, and Hani I Pazarit. Korca is famous for its vibrant life and traditional music. Enjoy a pleasant walk in Korca’s main pedestrian area.

Driloni National Park - Drilon, a small village between Korça and Pogradec, is one of southeastern Albania’s most enchanting spots. Ngjallja e Krishtit Cathedral - The Cathedral of the Resurrection, built in 1992 on the site of an old Orthodox church destroyed during the Communist era, is now the largest and most significant Orthodox church in Korça and Albania.
Përmet – Gjirokastra
Benja Thermal Baths - The Benja Thermal Pools are smooth, clear, and rich in sulfur. The stone baths are the most authentic, attracting many visitors year-round. Winter, when Përmet’s temperature drops below 0°C, is the best time to enjoy the hot baths, experiencing the contrast between air and water. Remember, 20-25 minutes in the pool is usually enough, as prolonged exposure to sulfuric waters can be overwhelming. Spend about 2 hours in the thermal baths, with opportunities for natural pool jumping and walking in Langarica Canyon.
Permet - In Permet, after exploring the city, visit a traditional house and meet locals to experience Gliko, a typical Permet product. Gliko, a key element of Përmet’s cuisine, is made from various locally grown fruits and vegetables by small-scale valley farmers. The most common style is made from whole green walnuts, with other popular variations including white cherry, eggplant, wild fig, plum, and apricot. Enjoy a city walk and some free time.

It features a room used only for wedding ceremonies with 15 windows, many with stained glass.
Gjirokastra Bazaar - The historic “Neck of the Bazaar” in Gjirokastra forms the Old Town’s center. Once artisanal workshops, these are now mainly tourist souvenir shops, with a few stone carvers remaining at the bazaar’s top end.
Gjirokaster Castle - Gjirokastra’s eerie hilltop castle is one of the Balkans’ largest. A fortress has stood here since the 12th century, though much of today’s structure dates to the early 19th century. The castle is infamous for its use as a communist prison. Inside, find an armory collection, two museums, crumbling ruins to explore, and superb valley views.
Saranda - After breakfast, meet your guide and head to Saranda, near the Ionian Sea, opposite Corfu Island. Enjoy the seaside panoramic view and visit the Butrint archaeological site. The village of Ksamil is known for its magical beach with three islands. Enjoy free time at the beach and visit Butrint, an ancient Greek city, later Roman and a bishopric in Epirus. Inhabited since prehistoric times, Buthrotum was a Greek Chaonian tribe city, later a Roman colony and bishopric.
